they wouldn’t be regrading the comics. Just reholder new labels you’re not paying for the grading since they already graded just paying for the reholder and new labels

I know at CGC they state that if a graded comic is coming in for reholder, and there is some obvious indicator that it is no longer that grade (dropped, cracked case damaged comic, Shaken Comic Syndrome), they reserve the right to regrade it. They don't want an incorrectly graded comic out in the wild. I don't know if CBCS has the same policy.

There is an unwritten rule: "Never crack a 9.8". I would think that would be x100 for a 9.9.

I laughed when I read my own words. Probably most of them are incorrectly graded.

Both cause the average OCD hobbyist much angst and consternation. How much - who knows.
Me - I could give a rats ass for either because I just sell the darn crap once it's slabbed.
It's as good as gone once a comic is the holder with a dumb number and a rhinestone label.

It just dumbfounds me how both companies can have the same issue(s) year after year after year - and just keep letting them ride with the same complaints year after year after year.

Oh yea... the duo monopoly thing and the "follow the money" thing.
The latter of which is why I even am involved in grading. Else I would not be - that's for sure.
I prefer dealing with competence.

Ya know....I think I have a few red label verified books hiding somewhere....maybe this is the opportunity to convert to a) yellow and b) new design???

Now do I convert and have MCS pick them up to sell?? kind of feel like red labels would hurt a book at auction.......

Unless they accidentally damage them while removing them from the old cases, or they get damaged during shipping to CBCS.....then they will regrade them automatically.

I was under this assumption as well. I've sent a ton of books to CGC reholder and they were all returned with the same grade (probably 100 or so GA and SA books over the past 2-3 years)

I wholeheartedly agree. It really looks amazing once you get 'used to' looking at it. They did a really good job imho.

Agreed....the label was slowly growing on me but I think I'm sold on it now. Great job indeed. It does look great.

I submitted some books for the discounted VSP. I just reached out to Customer Service about the new labels. They said "If the books are completed before the 23rd, you will most likely receive the old labels. However, if the books reach production after that date, they will receive the new labels." My order just went to pressing yesterday so I will more than likely get the new.

Hope this helps anyone on whether they want the new labels.

I agree with @DrWatson @Sagii and @GAC, I do like the new label when you put them next to the old and the CGC label!

Your order will be new labels.

If you have an order in-house and the labels were printed prior to 10/17, you'll get old labels. If the labels were printed on, or after 10/17, you'll get new labels.

It will work for any generation CBCS slab.

It's now $12 regular price to get a comic reholder. It went up with the last round of price increases.

@SteveRicketts - I still think books in the dreaded rivet label slab should be done for free. Rid the world of any remaining evidence that it ever even existed.

What’s more gruesome, the slab or the scene on this book’s cover?
