The grade of the book might help. This may or may not be of any use. Welcome to the forum @StonewallAT

Edit * brown brittle back cover? Just a guess.

That is the problem there is nothing there that would have those initials for comics. And it's going to come back to me an 8.0 which I really think is a wrong grade for the book.

@StonewallAT Maybe bindery issues, bends, and breaks color. More forum members might chime in.

Grader notes are dictated using some shorthand codes that get translated after they're entered.
This system works amazingly well unless there was a typo on the code and it doesn't get noticed, then it looks like a series of letters to the end user.

I'll hazard a guess that the "BBBC" was a typo for "DNBC" which would have translated out to "Does not break color" once it was converted in the system. Do you have context with the BBBC, or was that all that was on the note?

@codychunn if they are going to use short hand then they shouldn't have so much that it can stand for. That is problematic for me to see if I agree with them when I get the book

Does CBCS have a grading guide or grader reference sheet? Maybe in the glossary. I don't know if they have one. They should. One is probably taped to the wall over each grading station. If it exists.

@codychunn when I search on their website I can find something but the page is blank on my phone.

You shouldn't see the shorthand. It's converted as soon as the grader hits enter.

@SteveRicketts okay thanks. I am going to look at it when it comes. Cause there was no damage when I handed it to them
