My last shipment to CBCS was to Oakville. I’ve signed up for a FedEx account and I’m ready to prepare the US bound shipment. I don’t think I have ever sent an international courier package, and I am a bit paranoid about it. Any tips? I was thinking for type of goods I would choose Repair and Return with more details in the explanation field.

just be honest on the declarations and be prepared to possibly pay some hefty taxes.

@Cerebus3000 I always send my using Canada Post. My Customs form is noted like below. CBCS sends your books back using FedEx Ground. This generates a fee from FedEx called a Brokerage Fee. This is a pain to reverse from FedEx. I've been successful reversing this fee most times but certainly there have been times when they won't. To FedEx it's a legit charge. It's the fee handling the package at Customs...I still don't understand how it's legit but they do somehow. ![]() |

I use both FedEx and Canada Post to send books and just put repair and return - so far no issues! Like @GAC I can usually get the return BS brokerage fees lifted - in my latest ordeal I think part of the issue is that CBCS assigns a value to essentially the slabs? where by FedEx the says yes!! we can charge brokerage and GST -MFers!!! I am changing back to my US mail service - I'll have to cross the boarder but I guess that's ok..... |

FYI, Not sure why USPS tracking drops once in Canada but Canada Post tracking makes it the whole way!! ![]() |
