Ok...so I had a Magazine sized book in for Grading on Witnessed Signature from last year. My reason for submitting was thinking that maybe by the time it got to grading, they'd have magazine slabs available.

As of yesterday it said "REJECT" next to the item, assuming due to slabs not being available...it's been in limbo for a few weeks now.

Today, the "Reject" is gone and there's a new column in my dashboard that says "Collectible Type" "Comic"

So me reading way too much into it thinks that maybe Magazine slabs are coming soon....but at the same time, I could just be reading too much into it and my rejected book will be on its way home soon.

Or could it be that they just authenticated the signature and they're done?

@Paulbg2000 - Collectible Type should show either "Comic Book" or "Comic Magazine".

If anyone watched the recent CBCS pow-wow on Instagram Live (last week, I think), @SteveRicketts had a CBCS magazine slab in hand (holding a copy of Creepy #9, I believe). It looked just like a CBCS comic slab and, based on how it sounded when he set it on the table a couple of times, it was SOLID.

Maybe this is wishful thinking but it's looking like #Soon might be #Now in the not too distant future. We'll see.

They had sample slabs they were showing off over a year ago.

Which , not to rain on your parade , but I don't think that means that they'll be done soon. They could get them through grading and then have them sit in the warehouse for another year before magazine slabs are ready. And as for the categories, I have magazines that were recently raw graded and they're still categorized as "Comic books"

All I'm going to say is that this comment appears incorrect.

I hope you're right. But if they had the materials ready to slab the magazines, I would think they'd have felt ok saying so in the Instagram live video they did the other day.

I have not held a CGC Mag slab, but I’ve heard complaints of being “flimsy”. I like to think CBCS is concerned with getting these right and providing a far superior product. who knows; It could’ve just been put on the back burner while getting TATs under control and dealing with their move.

@MRmintastic - Yes, based on:

1) the fact the my “test dummy” magazine submission has been in Labels for a couple of weeks
and, 2) that over the past couple of months i have noticed changes to various areas of the website
And, 3) that the backlogs are almost eliminated,

I would venture that we are #VeryVerySoon to official announcement.

I only have 2 but they don’t seem flimsy to me.
