Where did you see that staff had either left or been let go?

Maybe they are pulling back on shows in order to keep what employees they do have moving books through the pipeline.

Just a thought. However, you know...

When in trouble, when in doubt.
Run in circles. Scream and shout.

That always fixes things and sets the mind at ease.

Looks like they have many upcoming shows. Even two on the same weekend in some cases. Though they do seem to be doing fewer shows and it is possible that not everything is announced yet (SDCC is not on the list yet, for example)

They used to be banned from that show as ReedPop had an exclusive with the cgc. They had to find an independent location convenient yet non-adjacent to the show. Maybe they just decided to say. "To hell with it," and move on.

I will say this. The CBCS booth was usually empty at the show I went to. I spotted our representative from this area witnessing sigs but there was never another person at the booth.

Just reporting facts.

Beckett seems to be doing just fine:

But who knows. Maybe they'll sell CBCS one of these days and we can round up a bunch of forum members to get a majority share and lose all of our money .

I would be skeptical of anyone who says that they can't say why they were let go.
Why can't they say why?

Why can't they say why?

Agreed. If you were let go by your employer, then there should be no expectation of privacy concerning why you are no longer employed. Unless, it's in exchange for said employer not pressing charges.

I know at least for my local small convention where CBCS is usually in attendance there is no notice on the cons site or CBCS....
If there truly is a pull back that would be unfortunate as I tend to deal with who ever is at the convention...and I know who will be at the big Toronto one later this year......

to be fair - it would be hard to tell if staff was let go... I mean with the stellar response times to e-mails even Methuselah would run out of time!

The guys and gals taking care of buisness at the booths at cons are independent contractors. Cbcs pays them but technically they work for themselves.

A surprising number of companies have non-compete and "don't say bad things about us" terms in their hiring contracts that extend past employment. I have no idea if CBCS is one, but saying in general.

Maybe one way to identify at least one prominent person who apparently no longer works there by considering who used to be the go-to point of contact for customer service inquiries both here and on the Facebook groups but has been pretty silent lately...

At ECCC in Seattle a few weeks ago, the show as being held in the all-new Convention Center called the Summit which opened this past January to the public. Due to confusing signage, a lot of people had no idea the main exhibitor hall was in essentially the basement. That would be considered Level 0 but the signs around the hall focused on Levels 1, 2, 3, etc. CBCS was located in this main hall down in the basement while CGC was located on Level 2 where the artist alley and celebrities were located as well as a smaller number of exhibitors.
