@Reelgee simply because they are 90s newsstands I found in the wild and they were basically free since I sent them with a book that I sold to pay for the press and grade 5 book sub.

I don't know- Does this count? It's the only 9.9, but there aren't many graded. That said, I have noticed a recent bump in 9.8's.

Though it's unlikely, I like to think they're chasing it.

@JustABitEvil it's so so wonderful to see a signed Stan Lee book that he actually wrote. I am so so so tired of seeing signed Stan Lee books in which he did nothing.... literally nothing with the book; nor the character; nor anything.

Signed Gwenom? Signed Venom? I mean c'mon. (And yes I've heard all the "But....." reasons for getting it signed)

Great choice of a book!!

a 9.8 Newsstand Spider-man #1.

It was also an experiment to see the quality of the Photo/Scan option. I think the resolution could be better. It was also a CPR of a CGC 9.6 with a pollybag crease and affected a bit by CGC inner well “puddling” that pressed out.

yes 90s and newer newsstands I will grab that look high grade to me. I do have a couple rags after 2005 just because of print scarcity. For PC I don’t care, but the market eats up the “relevant” Newsstands. I also enjoy that moment of finding them regardless of being key or not. It makes otherwise undesirable books worthwhile to me and the off chance of being able to sell it in the future is a plus. There are threads/discussions on Newsstands here but I can give you information if you’d like.

He had a Stan's Soapbox in mine, even though he had pretty much nothing else to do with the specific issue. I really don't mind a Stan signature on any Marvel book; it all started with him and Kirby, so there's at least a legacy there.

The autographs on Batman books are a different story. It's not funny, it's just dumb. I saw a blank variant Star Wars with a Stan signature once as well. Just makes no sense.

@James42 - Although Stan Lee was originally against Marvel becoming involved with Star Wars (the comic came out before the movie), he became instrumental in Marvel producing the comic. Without the box office success of the movie, and therefore comic sales for Marvel, Marvel may well have gone bankrupt during that time period (late 1970’s).

@esaravo I'm not talking about classic Marvel Star Wars, I am talking about post-Disney Star Wars. There's a sketch cover on eBay right now with Stan's autograph and the inscription, "May the Force be with you!" It's just jarring.

I just wanted something different, I've got about a dozen Stan Lee sigs on books with most of my favorite characters that he created. It's true the man signed about a million books in his day, but everyone has a Spidey or X-Men or whatever. Plus my wife's name is Sherry so when I found that book it was perfect
