Latest CBCS Submission19193

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user
Latest CBCS submission is clocking in at 1,516 books including 25 magazines.

The vast majority of these has one or more signatures.

Now that everything is just about organized I need to start filling out the online invoices.

After that everything gets pressed up and submitted.

All of the books will go to My Comic Shop for sale on consignment once they have been graded.

dang. probably its submissions like that that caused me to wait 14 months before finally getting my 1 comic back.

makes me worry a little for my 3 comic submission (though last time I spoke to them a month or so ago. they claimed it was grading. no updates on page but the one comic was like that till it was a day away from shipping. plus they did alter the page a little to mention if a variant) but Im not going to be impatient this time

Wait, did you say magazines!!! Did they finally release a mag slab?

CBCS needs to be able to assign a separate team to these types of "mass" submissions.

Anything over 25 books should go to a completely separate team with completely separate TAT's.

Just IMHO and if I'm out of line well ... okay then.

Nope. They're accepting magazine submissions, sometimes, but there's no tier on the submission form for magazines and no announcement on the status of magazines. Some people who have managed to submit magazines are reporting their magazines are now being graded, but no one has seen a magazine slab since the original prototype slabs, as far as I know.

I know. people waiting for over a year because someone submitting well over a thousand (even 500 is a lot) either did before them or rushed grading

I hate to say it. but there should be a limit of how many you can submit at once. you are exhausting the graders and making people with much much smaller submissions

im not saying people shouldnt be allowed to submit that many in general. but they should be considered seperate. 100...max. if you have 200. then it counts as 2 subs.

Have I told you about the time I dropped off 3,000 comics at SDCC? Scifinator private msg quote post Address this user
CBCS typically takes large submissions and breaks them into stages, so as to not gum up the works too much. Now, if one were to submit 1,500 comics under 50 separate submissions of 30 comics, that would probably reduce ones overall average TAT as opposed to 5 separate submission of 300 comics or 1 submission of 1,500 comics.

@drchaos has plenty of past experience here, so my guess is he'll have many submissions for those 1,500 comics, plus you have time to get yours in now since he is going to first press his before sending in.

Curious, any vintage-tier comics in this sub? Wondering if that 40 day turnaround is going to be affected

Without larger submissions the cost per book would probably go up by a lot.

Last year I was able to create one invoice with 694 comics.

Now each invoice tops out at 100 books so I will be creating quite a few invoices even though I am submitting all of them at one time.

Just curious….is there a discount on an order that size?? Also, if you don’t mind me asking, what would the cost be?? Hard to wrap my head around a submission that big

@Ginosdad

A few year ago I gave them roughly 1,200 books and they said the number of books for a bigger discount was at least 5K if I remember correctly.

Of course that was before Beckett took over.

I had figured the costs when I had 1,150 books.

I will have the revised number in a couple days.

If I submit everything before the end of March I would think I get the older books within two months and everything else a year later.

So after not being allowed to use the 15% discount code on my magazine order (where I used my points) I figured that I would be able to use the code on my other orders.

Nos so fast Dr Chaos, it seems that dealers are not allowed to enter discount codes.

My latest invoice with 100 signed vintage books did not allow me to use the code when I created the invoice on the CBCS website.

Given the size of my submission this is going to sting a bit.

It says 5 books or more. Where is the fine print with a max submission?

I think someone else posted that the discount can't be stacked with membership deals or other discounts. So maybe that's the issue?

Filling out the forms on the CBCS Website now.

I have entered all 25 magazines and 632 pre-2001 comic books onto eight invoices so far.

Only 856 post 2000 books to go.

@Bronte

They created a separate invoice for the 5 magazines that I already submitted in April so that is a good sign I guess.

With that said it is a leao of faith.

Most of them are signed so at least the witnessed signatures will be recognized under ASP when CBVS does get up to speed on magazines.

Down to the last 303 books left to enter.

Only 50 of those get to go on the zero percent credit card.

The rest will go to a card I pay off monthly.

Entering all of this data is exhausting.
