My February 2022 submission of 694 books has been completed19139

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user
In February of last year I submitted 694 books to Matt Edwards at the Encounter in Allentown, PA owned by my good friend Oliver Hockran.

The books are now ready for pickup.

My Comic Shop will be taking the books on consignment.

This leaves my books and magazines submitted at the Little Giant show in Concord, NH that are still in process.

@drchaos I believe you and I were talking at the Little Giant show while the guys were busy witnessing Jim Steranko and Vince Colletta signings. I had the Keith Williams sketch cover and some other books to submit. I wanted to get Jim's signature on my copy of Strange Tales #159, but the line was soooo long that I said *uck it! and submitted it to be pressed and slabbed without. My books came out of pressing and went into grading yesterday.

That doesn’t sound too good to me.

That is a full year that you had the cost of 684 books tied up at CBCS.

That is why I press my own books.

Maisie and I have a nice cuddle scheduled for this afternoon. We will channel our feel-goods to that poor, sad book.

Yup. If it's pretty straightforward, I'll do it myself. Anything more complex and I send it to the pros.

A year for just grading?

How?

Do you submit different tiers onto one submission?

I know that is a reason for long TAT at CBCS and CGC.

But that can be remedied by subbing each lot of tiers onto separate invoices so if a bunch of moderns are slabbed, they won’t sit around until silver age books with longer TAT subbed under economy w/out fast track are slabbed.

But I think you and Corey would know that.

I’m curious what your sub was; tiers, what was fast tracked etc.

It takes 6-12 months of experience with dry cleaning & pressing to do virtually anything related to grade bumps.

I’ve been pressing/subbing my own books since early 2016.

Haven’t had to have a “pro” press any books of mine since mid 2016.

It’s not for everyone, you have to be very patient and good with your hands but damn, it’s not rocket science.

All of my books are in livable areas or my home. No basements, attics, or garages for my books.

My oldest right now is 3/5/2022. 20, no pressing, new tier.

Yes, I also thought about printing my book, but so far I am confused by the difficulties.
