@GAC
Those are some pretty sweet books. I still need to decide what I'm sending in. At least I have a little time!

it's no longer just the TAT holding me back

we can all agree it's a better case....but BETA was better than VHS and manual transmission still gets better mileage than automatic... 'better' doesn't necessarily mean people will choose your product

Immediate future for me is little to no books being sent and the few I am sending are to the other guys. I'll have to wait and see if anything will move the dial for me..but 15% off and 40 TAT don't seem to be peaking my interest right now...who knows....give it a week - maybe I'll change my mind???

Just did the math.....

If my vintage books are under $400 FMV it is $26 more expensive per book to use CBCS pressing and grading vs 3rd part pressing and 'other' grading...even with the promo

CGC requires a paid membership to submit and you'd be stuck with CGC grading and slab.

Actually....not sure about your math.

add cost of membership + $5 Handling fee (this is without Pressing Fees so maybe CBCS Pressing fees are super expensive).

CGC Pricing below:

@GAC CGC memberships are 'free' as you get a credit to apply against grading. Not sure on CGC pressing... I was using a florida 3rd party price who hand delivers to CGC at no extra cost. $15 to grade 1969 to 1974 or $20 pre 1968 vs CBCS $40 and CGC fees are $1 less...
as far as stuck with their grading and slab..meh...
Slab is subjective
Grading..also subjective but I've had 'good' and 'bad' grades from both

While price isn't everything...it goes a long way.
There have been other issues that have been bothering me and one builds on the other...and 15% doesn't appear to be enough for me

At this point really I want to use this particular 3rd party presser...and they no longer use CBCS...kind of forces my hand

Where are those prices you quoted coming from?

My screenshot is from the CGC site and it shows $35/book.

If submitting through a 3rd party presser gets those prices then yes, I'll be submitting that route as well.

I had no way of knowing that 9.8 graded copies signed by Adam Hughes weren't what you were looking for. drchaos private msg quote post Address this user
So I just entered an invoice for 25 magazines.

I had to enter them as books since magazines were not available.

I was able to use my points towards the total but was denied the 15% (not even able to enter the code).

I am not sure if this is because I used points or because I have a dealer account.

I will know for sure when I open the next invoice (have 12 more to go).

Same. I have six books ready to go on Tuesday. I plastered the promo code on the invoice in red. I'll see what happens after it is received.
