Just show something cool: Part 519089

Collector KCBatmanFan private msg quote post Address this user
My French “Return of the Living Dead” soundtrack that I bought in Paris on an 8th grade trip in 1985.

I’d read about the movie (on the set of “Night of the Living Dead” - sic) in the first issue of “Monster Land” a few months earlier.

This isn’t my original copy, but I know I bought it in Summer 1984 despite the February 1985 cover date.

I was totally stricken by this “unique” take on Zombies. I was shocked when I saw on our school trip the soundtrack was out and the movie was playing in Paris.

Didn’t get to go to the movie since it was an 8th grade trip, but did grab the soundtrack.

I forgot about it for a bit and it finally came out in the fall in the U.S. my online research says that it was released in France after the U.S. this is 100% not true.

Very cool.

I don’t really have coins that are of any value beyond sentimental. That said, I find these tiny coins pretty cool. Beside a dime for scale.

Hand a framing store the poster and a few grand, I’d guess.

I did jump into the collectors society coin forums.
Great knowledgeable collectors there.
That's the forum linked to cgc so I didn't have to create a account which is great.

They helped me by posting a link to coin dealers that send in coins to be graded.
I only need the gold coin done just for authentication. So I won't need to pay for a membership and such.

I know it's real as I inherited from a family member years ago.

Gold cost is like $1100 and the coin in that condition for collectivity will probably move it up to the $1500 mark.

I've no intention of selling.

I was advised to pick up a half dollar tube to put the 1960s silver half dollars in there so they are better stored.

Very good group of collectors advising a novice such as myself.

So anyone who has coins with questions and you have a cgc account.

Post in the coin newbie section for any advice.

@Davethebrave See I look at that and think old coin cool.

It's amazing that age isn't a big deal with coins.
It's what they are made of Gold, silver and their scarcity.

Comic book collecting is a big enough rabbit hole for me.

I don't need another collecting hobby.

Not anything to show, but the internet guy came by today and he happened to have a Punisher tattoo. My dad tipped him five bucks and he was happy, but he was glowing after I gave him a Punisher comic book.

Maybe not cool but essentially the AF15 of Pokemon cards. Similar scarcity but compared to the size of the market, I’d argue these are undervalued (even after a big run up, and then down post-hype bubble). Looking to add some more but no rush…

I posted pictures of the comics I picked up today at the local indoor flea market / consignment shop over in the New to Your Collection thread. I also grabbed a few collectible cards.

After we left there, my wife and stopped at 5 Below to grab some cheap candy to take with us to the movie theater, and I grabbed a few additions for my collection of figures and other random memorabilia.
