I've had this book for quite awhile stuck in a pile of other bagged and boarded books. Never got around to scanning or posting iPad images of it. This copy of AIRBOY #52, June '48, has a spectacular Zolnerowich cover (love the skull shaped building). It's actually the first time I've thumbed through this book since purchasing it. Wow! Great stories, bone white PQ and NM/M in appearance! Definitely need to get this in a CBCS holder soon...

Here are a couple of later AIRBOY comics that are among the key issues of the run. These two issues, #57 (Dec. '48) and #58 (Jan. '49), feature the rat army invasion which, in addition to being superbly creepy, is unusual in that it's a continued story...

My only Airboy comic #1. Can't recall think it came back a 9.0 or 9.2

No longer in my collection, but the Church copy of Hillman's Air Fighters #2, the origin and first appearance of AIRBOY used to be among my GA keys...

A recent sale of a copy of this one made a BIG splash recently. Nice Marty!

HOW BIG A SPLASH?

Marty
CGC 9.0, Over 4K. It's the first appearance of Fire Hair. Worth slabbing Marty.

Thanks for the info...with a detached cover and a piece missing from the bottom right corner of the cover I doubt if it would
grade very well.

Marty
Still, it's a sleeper now awoken, even low grade copies could fetch some type of premium IMHO

This is one I might consider selling...but I doubt if anyone wants
anything from my collection.

Marty

Marty,I'd be delighted to have any book from your collection.Just knowing you'd bought it and loved it all these years would make it very special.

@martymann That Rangers cover is killer.

Alas, I only have two war era copies of Harvey's ALL NEW Comics, but both are pure Schomburg mayhem (and #9 is the Edgar Church copy)...

Told me he was passing through a town and saw a sign advertising a garage sale for the following day. He stopped and asked to look around because he wouldn't be there the following day.
While he stacked up a pile of random items he said he saw a box in garage not for sale that said "Aunt's funny books." Anyhow he threw the box in the pile of items he had accumulated and gave the owner a 100 bucks for his pile and drove off.
I gave him $800 for the box of 80 books after he sent me a few pictures of some of the books. Anyhow this Mighty Mouse was one I got in there. Most were in the VG+ to VF- condition with a couple in Vf+ range.

Since my wife and I are departing from Galveston this morning on a cruise ship, this CAT is hoping to remain above water!

@martymann Sweet book Marty!

As a Timely guy, it's a real stretch to come up with anything resembling Bob Kane's seminal character. In order to come close I'd have to put these three books in a blender...

...and it still wouldn't come out right!
