Impulse buy, December of 1953, reprints a couple of Rulah stories from 46 I think with one new story as a lead.

Congratulations! There are a Lot of Golden Age 3 to 4 issue series runs that are harder to put together than runs that lasted much longer.

Here's an Graham Ingles horror follow-up to Marty's two-fisted Jack Davis WW1 "horrors of war" aerial cover. FTR, there's a famous ...or rather infamous... Davis tale in Haunt Of Fear #19 that became one of Fredric Wertham's key examples of debauchery in SOTI. Foul Play was a home run for the reformers, but the good doctor's sketchy research of delinquency caused by reading these macabre tales failed to touch base with any verifiable evidence...

@CatmanAmerica - I always liked the intestine baselines and stomach rosin bag myself.

@martymann positively electrifying cover!

This is one of my favorite Weird shockers, courtesy of Wally Wood...

This didn't get any attention in the upgrade thread ...perhaps because buying a second copy in the same grade seems less like an upgrade than hoarding copies..., but I love both books.

Alas, the second book arrived with CGC Newton Rings (CGC should trademark that blotchy oil slick look, it's really quite unique), so it will eventually end up regarded and in a CBCS slab. Anyway, the book is HIT #18, Reed Crandall's signature work ...literally the only cover he signed for Quality during the war years, so it was work in which he had great pride... and the first appearance of Stormy Foster. Without further adieu, Both books...

One of my favorite EC covers.

@X51 Very dynamic. George Evans EC covers are excellent & underrated, IMO.

I have too many favorites, but the one I have the longest connection to is the Al Williamson cover for Weird Science-Fantasy #25, which also has Al's illustrated adaptation of Ray Bradbury's story "A Sound Of Thunder".

Al personalized this copy in 1974 and it remains a very special book in my collection.

I have a #1 around somewhere. I'll have to see if I have a pic in my photbucket. God only knows where it would be in actual collection if I had to go find it.

U.S.A. Comics is an odd book, ...mainly because I only seem to have odd numbered copies in my collection! Someday, I'll have to remedy that, but for now, what you see is what I got!

Here's the first issue in grade, Rockford pedigree, with a classic Jack Kirby cover...
