Police Comics #10 sports one of Gil Fox's better covers. Although Fox was not one of Quality's best artists he was dependable. What makes early Police great is that the interiors are chock full of awesome art, including Jack Cole's Plastic Man.

Quality Comics, under the guidence of publisher "Busy" Arnold, turned out many excellent comics in the 40's and early 50's. Arnold reputedly paid among the best rates in the business and as a result could secure the work of some of the best illustrators.

@martymann Very colorful!
Boy Commandos is one of D.C.'s cooler Simon & Kirby inspirations. The cover of BC #33 may be by another artist, but Boy Commandos was S&K's baby.

Here's another artist themed cover by the S&K team, this time for Timely:

Human Torch was always a smokin' title, one of Timely's best. In fact, HT was the dominant cover leader in Marvel Mystery as well, even when the Torch's master cover illustrator Alex Schomburg was unavailable. When necessary other artists, most notably Syd Shores, would fill in and usually turn out a cover that lived up to the Torch's hot reputation. Here's issue #24 featuring the Torch & Toro battling a villain with a severe underbite who's determined to steal an atom bomb...
