So if you look in the center of this pic you'll see an 8.5 og the I nfamous Y-1 Donald Duck Atom Bomb. I decided to crack it clean it and press it.
It is coming back with my current order. Here is a pic of the grafe. Now a awesome 9.6. Whoop whoop. Worth the 30 minutes I spent working on it I guess.

This was a four issue run (the first issue was titled 'Real-Life Secrets' , then with the previous book i posted it was shortened to 'Real Secrets', so technically that was issue #1 making RLS a one shot. But the completest in me keeps hearing the one shot calling me

Issue #2, my favorite of the four covers

Only have one Romance comic in my collection...GIRL'S LOVE STORIES
#1 from August/September 1949...in pretty rough shape. I didn't
buy this but appeared to pick it up in books that were borrowed
from me by a friend then returned. I only ran across it years back
when I started to sort my collection. No place in my collection
for it.

Nice! Being the one and only, i'd say it does have a (unique) place in your collection.

Been kind of busy at work recently, but I do have one more copy of Whiz comics to share. Captain Marvel dispatches a couple neanderthal thugs, by tossing them over the edge of a cliff.

Beautiful, Marty!

I was tempted to ape your Schomburg lead with an encore of the master's gouache recreation. Alas, Photo-bucket isn't cooperating tonight, so I'll just toast your scan.

Finally got the image file working...

Here's the Schomburg gouache original from my collection (courtesy Heritage scan) I was trying to post. Unfortunately the image refuses to size properly. (go figure, it's Botophucket)

This cover scan, OTOH, sizes up just fine!

Cheers,
Cat

I picked this up today for a steal, it's rough but it's also almost 10 years older than my father.

Panthers tend to get the short end of the stick on GA covers...

...as did the briefly starring lead character named Stormy.

Great Duck books Poka. My favorite is WDCS #61

Picked this book up at my LCS a few years ago. They only had the one issue in stock.

Going to attempt to show my golden age in alphabetical order, sort of. For some reason a few will not post.

Always amazes me how these cheap paper products made for kids to handle can be in the condition that some of them are. Here is a 1937 book in pretty good shape.
