What a way to end the year. With that kind of gift at years end you might want to pull a Rip Van Winkle/20, and see what's in store a year from now. Seriously that is one awesome book!

Great romance book, with a hint of conflict in the making.

I should have been up last night at the stroke of midnight to post this book. Captain Midnight did rule the air waves for a few years as the cover blurb suggets, from the late 30's to 1949.

Thanks for sharing Marty. I have never seen the secret squadron and code book for Captain Midnight before.

Making a full decade jump from 1946 to 1956, this book was the first G.A. book I purchased.

This book is another early addition to my G.A. collection. First Curt Swan cover art for the Superman title.

Very cool, and a quick check on the "Bay" shows these are pretty affordable.

Depends on grade. Looks like minor bends, rust around staples, bottom right corner chip, minor tear top right without seeing back or pages, I would say you are in the 6.5 range to 7.0.
Probably worth a couple hid red if it gets a 7.0. If I pressed it and cleaned up staples might be a 7.5ish

I concur with @earthshaker01. The last copy I saw for sale (eBay perhaps?) was in rough shape, but finished with an impressive number for the grade and obscurity. Can't remember the exact figure. The cover is so startling it was only a matter of time. The number one has a reputation as an extremely violent book

@earthshaker...you wanted me to post last weeks purchases when they came in so here they are:

I figure the raws are a 3.0 and maybe a 5.0-6.0....but the slabs are pretty cool .

and I suspect the yellow jacket may be trimmed but I did check the slabbed sales and most had the same edge cut - I just couldn't tell if the pages were exposed on the slabs...but its still a cool cover..even with the stain top left

Wow that's living up to your board name.

I have a recent acquisition, that's screaming for a re-submit.

Ha! @earthshaker...you must be hitting the bottle still from New Years...I appreciate the kind words, but my collection is 1/1000th of just what you've posted on the boards . I only have a handful of Golden. Kicking myself for not going balls deep into that era - the first books I ever bought on Ebay (back before automobiles were around) were my okajima and my Forbidden worlds #5...things were so cheap back then (reminds me of my ex wife)

Woah, if you have 1/1000th of the books that Earthshaker has, I must have 1/10,000th.

While were waiting for Earthshaker's latest I have this book to offer. I acquired this book in the fall of 1998 along with several other books signed by Margaret Perry.
