Thanks. It's 8.5 and unrestored, the Chicago pedigree copy. There are 9.0 copies, but this is currently the second highest grade. I rarely post labels, mainly out of principle as CGC has an issue with displaying CBCS labels on their site. That said, I do occasionally post full scans; here's a top grade pedigree acquisition from earlier this year...

Going through boxes getting ready to sell whole collection and I knew I had a nice copy of this book, but came across another equally as nice.

@CatmanAmerica would you say that 9.2 is nicer than the 8.5? I'm not seeing it, but of course I'm not seeing the books in their entirety.

That's always a tough call and this is a fairly scarce book in grade.

I haven't seen either of the 8.5 copies, but I've been a harsh critic of some of the Promise collection grading generally. The 9.2 copy looks really nice in hand and the grade will likely stand as the highest, ...at least for awhile.

@CatmanAmerica I was referring to the two books you posted. The 8.5 of Marvel Mystery and the 9.2 of Catman. To my eye the 8.5 Marvel Mystery looks nicer. But I can't see the full books.

Ah, now I get what you're asking. Sorry 'bout that. Yeah, the Chicago copy of Marvel Mystery #8 is a great looking book, it's also an earlier book, slightly larger dimensions and page count as it's pre-war. If I were judging from cover alone ...yeah... the Chicago copy is the winner, but I haven't checked grader's notes for interiors.

My son's foray into the 1930's. I'm sort of surprised the Smash #10 wasn't marketed as an Iron Man prototype.

@figment need to add Crackajack Funnies #1 1938 to that collection of 30s books.
