| Last year I bought what I thought was a random Batman comic from 2020 in a cheap bargain bin at a convention (maybe for $1). I read it now realizing its the first appearance of Punchline (Batman vol 3 #89). I know she is Joker's new henchgirl and gaining some popularity. But is it a good find? comic looks to be in good condition. But value wise, good idea to keep as good condition as possible? | ||

| Depending on how popular Punchline becomes, it could wind up being a nice book to have. Will it be worth umpty-bucks? That I doubt. Print runs are too high for books from The Big Two for there to be a shortage so dire that books are worth lots. I know that issue got reprinted at least twice, though, so there was definitely some demand for it. | ||

| It is a good find. 9.8s were going between $100-150 or so due to hype then petered out. There are still plenty listed over $100 on ebay, but even lower priced 9.8s seem to be sitting. I have a sorted history in acquiring this book in the beginning and have given up. 3 9.8 candidates at separate times arrived damaged in shipping for one reason or the other. I dont care the character; shes no harlequin. I believe her potential (if written well) would be an equal replacement for the joker if he is ever successfully killed off. Harley could easily take up the mantle, but punchline is still moldable and may be crazy enough to try to take over the gotham underground like ol jokey himself. Harley may be too heartbroken to do more than seek revenge. And there’s that pesky bat still getting in the way. Just a theory. I think joker is played out with all the “who laughs” nonsense. | ||

| I dont see any imperfections. if there are any then minimal so likely a 9.8 (maybe 9.6) the code sticker is still there. I need to observe the back. I mean as I said it was found in a bargain bin no bagged/board, so either got really lucky with nothing ever happening or there is something I havent seen yet my guess dc created her because Harley became too popular, an anti hero, etc...and they felt joker needed a henchgirl |

| i looked it over. back looks just as good. I dont see any crunches, tears, dings, discolorations, etc. not saying 10.0 or even 9.9 but should get a 9.8. so should be worth getting graded when I get a chance | ||

| Im still happy to discover I have Batman #89. would YOTV be better? yes. but found a comic once graded and if Im right about grade (looks very good so 9.8...maybe 9.6 at worst) is currently a $100 comic. I paid maybe $1 for. good investment to get graded. if I can do 4 submissions this year will do so. but want to grade my infinite crisis #3 (first appearance of Jamie Reyes), #5 (first appearance of him as Blue Beetle) and Amazing spiderman #360 (first appearance of Carnage. Yes Cletus appeared prior, and got symboite prior as well but its first appearance in cameo of him as carnage) first | ||
