Please note that the votes on this entry are not early contest votes but votes for the kind message from @southercross. Quote: Originally Posted by southerncross |

@martymann That's what I thought. And is the best thing about showing books in forums such as these that collectors get ideas for their next aquisitions. ![]() |

It was kind of easy, but not entirely.... Knowing that Marty bought some of these covers might have been the reason for him buying that issue instead of another comic he could have bought that day. That made me look harder at some covers I have always, kind of, taken for granted! That was waaaaaaay cool! That said, LOL, the Spirit cover and a few others are so classic! At the end of the day, that's how I voted. As the fanboy I am! VOTED! |

ATTENTION: Please disregard my single vote for WOW COMICS...this was done by mistake by an excited old man! Again, thank you ALL for this thread. Marty |

Thought it was kind of interesting to look up some of the dates: In June of 1945 young @martymann was intrigued by this cover: Quote: Originally Posted by flanders December 1951, Six and a half years older, a decidely different theme was chosen: Quote: Originally Posted by Rbolton Looks to me like maybe the difference between a 10-year-old collector and a 16–17-year-old collector? Thanks! Honored but really a win for @martymann and all of us who benefit from enjoying his great (unofficial) pedigree. I will post a new contest later today. |

First, congratulations to @Davethebrave and in appreciation of his selection WOW #38 I will be sending it off for grading next week...will keep you posted on it's progress. Also let me thank @EbayMafia for creating this contest and for his kind words and continued interest in my collection. It appears that @stevericketts entry SPIRIT #22 came in second and has already been graded...the most valuable book in my collection. Winner #3 appears to be WEIRD SCIENCE #18 entered by @esaravo which contains one of the classic Ray Bradbury SF stories "Mars Is Heaven"...I'll send this one off for grading too. And since I always send in three books at a time I'm including ALL AMERICAN #91 submitted by @EbayMafia for grading. Again thanks to all for participating in this contest and for the support you have given to my collection. Marty |
