Sam De La Rosa - Would you have him remarque and sign this?18914

Feel free to use my post as a checklist. multi007 private msg quote post Address this user
He's an integral part of Venom. But even though he's not credited in this book specifically, would you have him sign and remarque this?

SPIDER-MAN UNLIMITED #1 CGC 1st SHRIEK / MAXIMUM CARNAGE #1

Thanks.

@Zombie_Head this would be strictly for investment. Im leaning more against - I notice that many purists out there only want signatures and remarques from people directly involved with the book.

I have my personal copy of Venom: Lethal Protector (1993) #1 I'll be getting him to sign and remarque.

@BigLouComicGuru thanks. This is definitely for resale, so I do not want to limit my future customers.

Are you planning to get it signed at Fortlauderdalecon? Just wondering because I don't see the pricing anywhere.

@Ryan4421 yes i do plan to. and no, they didnt list any prices of the artists. Im guessing that will be posted at the con.

But im looking forward to getting this done from Sam.

@BigLouComicGuru that's awesome. My plan is to get something like that. This is for my personal collection.

@multi007 Sam trys to keep his prices very reasonable, but he does charge more for the Venom 1 sigs.
Super nice guy, amazing artist, a true collector and great friend!
If you have not met him before, you are in for a great fan experience! Enjoy!

Something to consider: When given the opportunity to put forth their artistry, artists will often do a sketch/remarque on a blank sketch cover that is far more impressive than one on a cover that already contains artwork. And for the same price. This has been my learnings over the years; and I get a ton of sketch covers from artists.

There seems to be a desire to take up an entire blank page, with better detail, when given the chance; rather than cram in a remarque/sketch in a tiny crevice on a cover.

If I were a buyer, I personally will always always purchase the better remarque/sketch; and one that "stands out" which is what happens when on a blank cover. This is just one man's preference as a potential buyer. But I often seem to be the outlier in this hobby so who knows.

@sborock Im thrilled to have this opportunity. For him to be in my backyard is awesome too!!

@Nuffsaid111 im bringing a blank with me also, it just depends on their time constraints. Some dont ahve too much time to do a great sketch and id hate to just get a remarque on a blank. Fingers crossed.

I had Sam DeLaRosa sketch on a Web of Spider-Man #90. I asked for Spider-Man, but if he was sick of sketching Spidey, I would like Mysterio, too. He gave me this:

Check out Mysterio reflected in his eye! I it!!!

The 30th anniversary issues from Spidey series make great remark books. This is my favorite.

I Went to L.A. Comicon and learned a valuable lesson. When I went to Sam's table, he had some customers around him but only a couple. I could have had him sketch anything as he was not busy at all. When I made up my mind what to buy, towards the end of the con, His booth was surrounded by fans, I had to wait my turn to make a purchase (a bit of a wait). My advice, go early! He was great to talk to and very accommodating. He agreed to take a picture with me with the book I just bought from him, the best part was, he did it gladly and without charging extra. (He does have the funkiest shoes!)

Those pre-done sketch covers are awesome.
That's why I like sketch covers - the sketch stands out and one can see it easily and for all its glory.
When done on a cover that has artwork already, it sometimes gets impossible to even distinguish the sketch/remarque.

Any recollection on how much those pre-done sketchs on the black blank were?
I'd put out a premium $$$ for those as they are top-notch.

If I can recall he was working on them in front of us, He'd stop to sign and do a quick sketch on a book then flip back to working on the black covers. This was at the CBCS grading expo.
