Quote:Originally Posted by zdoes10 The game has been moved to Detroit due to the 5 feet of snow in Buffalo, so it will be indoors. No way they ever build an outdoor stadium in Detroit; no one wants to come and see the Lions lose AND freeze their ass off! The crowd should be interesting. I am expecting more Cleveland fans since itโs only about a five hour drive from Detroit. The drive from Buffalo is about double that in favorable weather. You can shave some time off by cutting through Canada, but even that has become more complicated since they began requiring US citizens to have a passport to enter their country (I will refrain from making any politically contentious comments, but feel free to insert your own border crossing joke here). I am leaning towards rooting for Buffalo myself, mainly because they have to play the Lions on thanksgiving and I think it will go better for them if the Bills are coming off a win. So GO BILLS! |

One would need a tauntaun just to get to the stadium in Buffalo. Saw some pics and news videos yesterday. Wild. Most I remember getting while living in Cincinnati, OH and Bismarck, ND at one time was about a foot or so. I can't imagine getting a few feet at once. Echo the sentiments that everyone is safe up there.

When I was a kid, we lived in the UP for about a year. Rudyard, MI. By far the most snow I ever saw in my life. I was only about 6 years old at the time (1st grade), but I remember standing outside waiting for the school bus and the snowbanks where they had cleared the road were a foot or two taller than I was at the time. I think that is pretty normal up there in the winter. But five or six feet at once?!? That is absolutely insane, even for those who are used to living in those areas.

@WMorse Just Sunday. Couldnโt pass up the opportunity. I am thinking of doing another Lions game this year. If I do it will probably be New Yearโs Day against the Bears.

Hard to believe it, but this game is actually sold out! Planned to get tickets at the box office and ended up having to buy them from a secondary outlet. Both teamsโ fans are strongly representing, but I see more Buffalo than Cleveland so far. |

I've been watching the Bears vs Falcons game today. When it went to halftime, I switched to the Eagles vs Colts game to see the Colts leading 13 to 3 early in the 3rd!!!! Go Colts!!!!

What a great day today! Had huge fun being a Bills fan for a day. Very interesting to see how they do things different from the Lions. Had fun singing the Bills song after scores (although the Lions song is better by far). Enjoyed the train whistle sound effect they like to use when an opponent gets the ball or is facing a third down; that definitely generates considerable extra noise! Not sure if the Bills donโt have a squad or if their cheerleaders just couldnโt make the trip under the circumstances, but their absence was noticed. One thing the Bills did do that I think the folks at Ford Field should immediately adapt is the playing of NFL Red Zone on the big screen during halftime. I donโt know why the Lions arenโt already doing that! There was great enthusiasm on both sides, so no matter who did what there was great crowd response. A lot of barking Cleveland fans were in attendance. Making a good day even better, my buddy that I usually attend the games with is an avid sports better, so we stopped at the casino on the way down and set up a six leg parley, which we won. After collecting our winnings on the bet, the tickets, the trip and the food we ate at the stadium ended up costing a total of $4 each. Suh-Weet! And best of all, I am now heading home to watch the Lions stomp the Giants! |
