CBCS Pressing1872
Have I told you about the time I dropped off 3,000 comics at SDCC? | Scifinator private msg quote post Address this user
@KatKomics I am no expert, and those more experienced or CBCS staff can certainly correct me, but my thinking is to start when your shipping tracker reflects shipment delivered or a week from turn in at a Con, plus 10 - 14 weeks for press (depending on what month submitted), plus 1 week to ship from FL to TX for Grading after press, plus 4-6 weeks for grade (though i have seen grade down to 1 1/2 weeks in the past couple of months. Basically 16 to 22 weeks for Press & Grade if turned in at a Con depending on month. Right now for new Press & Grade submissions, I am guessing 16-20 weeks.

The last time I left a message with the support folks in India I was told they'd "follow up" on Monday as I called on a Friday. That was last week...and crickets. |

@Scifinator I should also note that I didn’t get an email indicating that the books had entered grading, just that they were completed. I’m not sure if this was a unique hiccup or if the system for some reason skips “Grading” when pressing is involved

Just got the email that my May 14th order (No Passes) is ready to be shipped back to me while my May 16th (No Passes) order has not yet changed to grading on the dashboard. The process from "Grading" to "Shipping" was only 3-4 days if we use the dashboard as time. Hope this helps.

@Forbush I have some in submissions that also haven't shown up on the dashboard. My understanding is that while they know when they were received, they were just backed up and didn't log them. We should see them logged soon, and they will be placed in norm queue as if they were logged when received. There was a flurry of activity last week for me and some others. Some of my unlogged comics were logged and some still are not. I wouldn't be surprised to see my remaining comics on my dashboard by this weekend. Like I mentioned you will probably see yours also this week or soon thereafter as I am of the belief that FL is catching up.

I spent about 10 minutes on the phone today with Kendra, who answered all of my questions and then some. Much at ease - and credit card (the correct one) was finally charged. They really need to give Kendra (and Jake, I think, the US customer service folks) a raise. They can start by canning the India service contract and pass the money along to them...just saying... |

@Paint_Monk, I was also helped by Kendra when I finally got a call back form her instead of being ignored by the India customer service group. I agree with everything you just said.

Pressing Before and After! I think this one is like right on the border because the grader's notes aren't much different between both submissions |

Got an email that my order is in grading. It was received Sept 12 and has fast pressing on it, so I guess that took just under 3 weeks? Which would put 'regular' pressing times at 6 weeks. That would be pretty cool. Anyone else have a recent TAT? Alternatively, since I used press screen, I guess it's possible that nothing I sent in could be improved and so none of it was pressed. I sent 15 books in a range of conditions and ages though, so seems unlikely. |

Still waiting on a book that I submitted for pressing and grading back on May 25th. When is the best time to call customer service to talk to someone who will actually be able to answer questions?

COLLECTOR | dielinfinite private msg quote post Address this user
@AmazingSpidergram I can’t say when the best time to call is but I can tell you that your books are not overdue quite yet. Assuming May 25th is the date CBCS received the books then you have roughly another week to go. Of course with the 10-day turnaround promo that they just did, your books may be delayed a little longer

I dont know exact times, but I avoid obvious times. When they open, mondays the entire day. right before they close and during their lunch hours. (Remember this is their time zones not yours) So far I've been fairly fortunate when calling. |

Just to add my 2 cents to the board, I submitted 4 books (3 modern and 1 Quickstream) for pressing and grading. No fast pass or press. Submitted them at Amazing Las Vegas Comic Con on June 14. They are still not on my dashboard. I've called customer service twice and was told "not to worry." The first time I called the service rep said that they should be on the dashboard in about a week (that was about 6 weeks ago). The second time I called, the customer service rep said that they should show up after pressing which was about 16 weeks. If they don't show up by the end of next week, I'll be making another phone call. |

@KatKomics No, I haven't been charged, and I just have the pink invoice slip given to me at the convention. Them not having my books has been my biggest fear, especially as I sent one of my favorite key books in for pressing. So that's why I've called twice, but they just keep telling me that they have them and that they will show up. I've been polite so far, but after the official 16 weeks for pressing goes by, I'm going to be more "forceful" with my next call. I don't mind that the pressing takes so long, I just want them to be in the dashboard so I can have confirmation that they're actually there. |

@lawguy1977 @AmazingSpidergram I spoke to Kendra in customer service last week about my books received on June 5th (dropped off at a con on June 1st). In her best "estimate" which I told her I understood to be "unofficial" she estimated it should be complete by the end of this month. My card was charged and the books are now showing received. If you can reach Kendra, she will give you most of the answers you need. I'm at ease for the moment (at least until Oct. 31) (EDIT - I submitted a total of 6 books, 5 modern and 1 expanded (extended?). Two of the moderns had signatures to be verified, two had authentic signatures. All had pressing.) |

@Paint_Monk @KatKomics Thanks so much for the input! I got a call from Kendra today and she apologized and told me that the data entry person in Florida quit awhile back and it's been really tough for them to have the data entered. Basically, the folks doing the pressing are doing the data entry as they go through the books that they press. Right now, they're working on books submitted in June. Kendra also said that they're sending a person from Texas to the Florida location to help with the data entry (though that person won't be there until the end of the month). Kendra was super nice and helpful, and she apologized again for the lack of information on the dashboard. I'm supposed to call her back if my dashboard isn't updated by the end of the month. So I feel a lot better about the situation. I guess if anyone knows some data entry folks looking for work in Florida, they should give CBCS a call. |
