If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. | xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
@SteveRicketts Thanks Steve. I guessed from the pricing on the invoice but the detail in the system is still lacking. The last order I got back, which also had press screen, included an invoice but it was the original one instead of the final one. Interesting choice.

@SteveRicketts So what submission dates are being pressed this week? Are you guys finished with Late May? Is early June started?

We should be well into mid-June by the end of the week.

Had 2 sigs added to my Secret wars 8 and got it pressed, was a 7.5 and it came back a 7.5 lol. I could have gotten a lower grade so I guess it could have been worse.

Steve, how have you fared on removing water damage? I apologize if this has been addressed, and I am not asking for a guarantee. Just wondering if you think you could repair this damage... |

A book that rippled that heavily with moisture can be improved in most cases. Can it be removed completely without a trace? Probably not. The result would likely be a big improvement on the actual grade, but you're probably not going to get a 9.8. But there can be exceptions as results on books like this can vary. |

Just a heads-up. All of July is now pressed and should be in Dallas by the end of the week. I'm starting work on August 1 now. I expect us to be pressing September books by the first week of Feb.

I have an order from late June (about 7 weeks past estimated) still in received status. Edit: I got ahold of someone and she said my books are in the grading room and it could be 4-6 weeks yet! Man that's brutal. 13 weeks over the 25 that was estimated. I really hope it's sooner... |

What is the current turnaround time for pressing?
Post 612 IP flag post |
CBCS Pressing | SteveRicketts private msg quote post Address this user
For orders received today, Modern, Consumer, and Expanded tiers are roughly 10 weeks. All other tiers and all Fast Pass orders are on-time. Please note that this is the expected turnaround for orders you send in today. Not orders that are currently in pressing. We're currently pressing orders from early September and will be gaining time quickly going forward. |

Can signed books be pressed, i have a Roy thomaas on an asm 102, that i want to press...also, when submitting books previously encapsulated by other companies, is it better to leave in slab for shipping? Finally, what sort of turnaround am i looking at on quickstream, verified signature and press? I know this has been answered before, but I'm lazy and didn't want to go through archives Thank you ahead of time @SteveRicketts |

Quote:Originally Posted by Enelson Yes, I've had signed books pressed. I would leave it in the slab for better protection. They'll crack it for you. I think the general consensus is that verified signature adds a week, pressing seems about on time (especially if you fast press), and it sounds like any grading that isn't regular modern is on time. |

CBCS Pressing | SteveRicketts private msg quote post Address this user
@xkonk is correct. Sigs are not generally a problem, though there are exceptions. If I suspect there will be a problem, I won't press it and you won't be charged for pressing. Fast pass is on time. Modern tier books submitted today will be about 10 weeks to get pressed. |

I'm going to be sending some books in within the next few weeks, and I've never sent any in for pressing/grading before. Just wondering if anyone can give me an idea of how much time the fast press option cuts down the pressing time? Thanks for the info!!
Post 619 IP flag post |
CBCS Pressing | SteveRicketts private msg quote post Address this user
Fast Pass cuts the time in half. Currently the Fast Pass pressing turnaround is 4-5 weeks.

Given the overall delays in process, do the pressed books from July delivering to TX end up jumping the grading queue at all based on their original invoice date, or do they end up at the back of the line? Quote: Originally Posted by SteveRicketts |

Everything in-house is based on the "out date." So if your order has a combined pressing and grading of 12 weeks, and it spends 10 weeks at the pressing office, it gets expedited through grading with the other orders with the same "out date."

@SteveRicketts I'm considering using your service. Would you be able to improve this book? I have the full run of the Englehart/Rogers Detective Comics but feel they need to be pressed and then encapsulated for preserving the books. I also have the stories in hardcover editions. |

It's hard to tell from photos, but I don't think it would hurt to have that properly pressed.

@SteveRicketts I'm a little confused, I just printed out an invoice for some books that I want pressed and graded and the texas address still comes up. Should I send the books to Florida first? or do they go to texaas, then florida?

Send them to Clearwater FL. Where is it telling you to ship to Dallas? I'll have the devs fix it.

@SteveRicketts is there a tier system for pressing prices? And does it tell you about how long it adds to grading?
Post 628 IP flag post |
CBCS Pressing | SteveRicketts private msg quote post Address this user
@Bobsaget Yes, pressing is in the same tier system as grading. I don't see pricing on the site, but it's listed in the submission process when you're doing an invoice. Here is the pricing list from the Facebook page... Turnaround times for Modern, Expanded, and Consumer tiers is currently 10-12 weeks for orders submitted today. All the turnaround times listed on this price sheet are pretty accurate. |

Does fast track guarantee to be half of the current turnaround time or does that depend on volume currently at hand?
