They're graded and encapsulated like normal. Both covers can be pressed without a problem.

I feel confident that the answer is either "no" or "lol not right now", but does the order dashboard update at all for pressing? Will it move from 'received' to 'pressing' at some point, or just jump from 'received' to 'grading' whenever they make it to grading?

@xkonk I don't know what the user can see, but there is definitely a Pressing status on our end. I agree that it would be good information for the customer to have, so I'm going to request that it be added to the system. I don't know when it will be added, but I will certainly put it on the list for our developers.

I'm still in Florida. Keeping pressing here allows us to expand with trusted CBCS employees that have been with us for a long time, with the bonus of letting our local customers drop off and pick up orders as they've been doing for four years.

Copied from the CBCS Facebook page: CBCS is very pleased to announce a service and equipment expansion for CBCS Pressing. As you are aware, the CBCS Grading and Encapsulation offices have moved to Dallas Texas, but we have opened a satellite office in Clearwater Florida that will be the home for CBCS Pressing. This will allow us to continue to accept drop-off and pick-up submissions for our customers in the Tampa/St Petersburg area. It also allows us to retain more of our valuable CBCS employees that were unable to make the move to the Dallas area. We will be using this opportunity to add more equipment and train additional staff, resulting in a faster turnaround for our pressing customers. If you live in the Tampa/St Petersburg area, it will allow you to continue dropping off orders (both pressing and non-pressing) directly to us. Any submissions made that do not require pressing will be forwarded by us to the CBCS office in Dallas at no additional charge. If you mail in submissions, we will ask you to ship the submissions that need to be pressed directly to the pressing office. The directions on how to do this will be given in detail when you fill out a submission online in a coming system update. The turnaround time for pressing invoices will begin the date your order is received at the pressing office. By shipping your orders directly to the pressing office, it will help expedite your turnaround time. There are no additional steps on the part of the customer. The pressing office will deliver the books to the grading office at no additional charge, and completely transparent to the customer. We are very excited by this opportunity to improve our service and our capacity to take on more volume in the future. The address for the CBCS Pressing office is 4500 140th Ave N, STE 110, Clearwater, FL 33762 We will make an announcement once the new office is ready to accept drop-off submissions. We expect this option to be available around the first or second week of August. Drop-off/pick-up submissions must be scheduled in advance as we will not accept customers without an appointment. |

@MR_SigS That's not something that could easily be faked. The fold pattern, cut pattern, and size of the cover would have to be perfect. The likelihood of doing this...and fooling Borock and West would be pretty low.

@MrsSmith you can email me at sricketts@cbcscomics.com @mrelowe No problem here. I don't know about shipping, but we've held off a few days just to make sure there are no issues from the storm. We are going to talk to FedEx on Monday to see if there are any problems on their end before we send anything out. |

@SteveRicketts Quick Question about timelines and turn around times. I thought that I remember someone from CBCS stating that the backlog was in the encapsulation process. In the TAT thread, someone recently posted that pressing is behind by 3 months? My submission date of 6/11 has been in pressing the entire time. When should I expect to see it begin to process through the next stages? BTW, I am not complaining about the TAT. There is a reason that you guys have my books and not the other guys. |
