Does CBCS take a payment right when you check out or do they wait until they get your books?

They charge when they check your books in at their facility, but if you have things like pre-screen, charges for that will come later, obviously. That usually happens during the encapsulation/packaging process. @BRZRKR_99 Welcome to the forum! ![]() |

Depending on the tier it could be 8 months and counting.

I've noticed that they are relatively quick to take the money when your books arrive and that's about it.

Quote:Originally Posted by Batman79 This is true and there's some irony there (no kidding...), but I still appreciate it more than the questions, waiting, and occasional unexpected charges I get from The Other Guy. CGC seems to have little rhyme or reason as to when they charge for services. Sometimes I get charged when the books are received, sometimes when the books are pressed, sometimes when they're in the middle of processing, and sometimes shortly after they're graded and ready to ship back to me. Add to this the bit where - unlike CBCS - there's no way to check on invoices or anywhere else how much you may still owe, and that means you'll get a surprise charge every now and then. I really don't appreciate that very much. |

CBCS never charged my CC for my last order I submitted. The order was Modern with VSP. When I looked at my invoice a week after I shipped, I noticed a balance was still owed. I had to click the pay button to have CBCS charge my CC. I had never encountered that before as I was always charged as soon as the books were in possession of CBCS. |

Quote:Originally Posted by Buckets That's a surprise. I've never had them fail to charge me when books are received. I've definitely had a later charge incurred after processing when I had pre-screening for something (press or grade), though. Sounds like an oversight that needs to not be repeated. |

I agree. I wonder had I not checked my invoice, would that have pushed back my completion dated further? Best to keep checking just in case. |

Quote:Originally Posted by Buckets I suspect it might have, but I have no proof of that. I check on submissions periodically that I know I'll have charges on later (press/grade pre-screen) and there have been a couple of times when I saw that there was a charge pending. I paid and received acknowledgement of payment. Done deal. I've also had times when I received an email informing me of a charge that I hadn't seen yet, and I don't know how much lag time there is between the charge being posted and the notice being sent. If it's a matter of days and not hours, then it's entirely possible that a completion date could be delayed a bit, though not by much, I expect. |
