Front and back pics of Swamp Thing 3 that came into the store. Orange front cover on one and the red missing is why the driver on the back cover ad is wearing green and not brown.

I haven't seen it yet, but why aren't any of you curmudgeons talking about Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse?

It’s not cheaper, it’s awesomer. It’s like traveling Elite class for comic books. But you need to have paper tape to put over the seams of any boxes that you use. They will then stamp the paper tap to reveal any tampering in transit.

Every time I used them usps did the paper tape. I didn't need to do it prior to arrival.

That was my experience as well, but they also told me that I'm supposed to be doing it myself, so I bought a role of paper tape. I'm that guy who silently scolds the people in front of me who cause a hold up at the post office or the airport.

Yeah. I hear you. Personally I don't use the service much, but if I did again. I can't imagine the tape being very expensive and saving the wait in line is prolly worth the few bucks

I bought a roll and used it once. It was worth it though. I used it to put over Home dump logo on a moving box to ship a decent volume.

I thought I saw someone had some trade paperbacks slabbed under the new magazine category. Does anyone know the size limits for the slabs? I have some signed graphic novel paperbacks and mangas I am thinking I would like verified and slabbed. Would CBCS do them? Thanks.

Max magazine size is 8.75" x 11.3125" and .375" thick.

The magazine slab is 9.625" x 13.9375" x .75" thick. It weighs 1.8 lbs with a standard sized magazine inside.

I'm going to see Fast X with friends tomorrow, and then the next time I get out it will be for Spider-Verse.

Thanks for posting this. I was more so trying to determine the coloration was a result of inks running low during printing and not fading of some sort.

It's definitely color running out, there are three copies with the orange cover and two regular red covers that were in this collection.

Some better pictures of the two books and their back covers.

The Turtlemania thread got me wondering. Is CBCS grading The Good Morty mini comic? At one point they weren’t due to the counterfeits. have they changed their position?

I have a different kind of question...

The voice actors for "Chainsaw Man" will be at Florida SuperCon. I like the show, so i want to get something from them, but not just a signed 8x10. I initially thought - i'll get the comic book because I want it yellow label slabbed. The problem is - the comic book is more of a "book" (i dont know what its called), but its softcover, and about 5/8th thick - so its not something i can get slabbed because its so thick.

I was thinking - if i get a piece of bristol board, cut down to magazine size slab, have them sign it then have the witness send it to an artist (im thinking Steve Lydic), to have him do a commission that wraps around the autographs some how...

In my mind - it would turn out great. lol. What do you guys think?

@multi007 if it sounds cool to you, do it. You might send CBCS an email asking if they offer all the usual services for magazine holders. As in, they'll put art and whatever fits in a regular holder, but will they also do that for magazine size?

Ashcan questions:
1. Has anyone sent some in to be slabbed?
2. Will they move around in the slab?
3. Was the cost the same as a full size book?

Thanks in advance.

@Retired_11B

I don't have an answer specifically for cbcs but I don't see why they would be any different.

Yes I sent ashcans in. They put them in plastic shells that hold them in place inside the plastic well. Cost wise it depended on magazine or book size but it was not discounted because it was smaller. You are paying full price.

Edit

I did have ine cbcs ashcan submitted. Sorry fir crappy photo

@Bronte - It shouldn’t be considered color touch, but would be considered writing on the cover. Color touch tries to match the color of the cover in an effort to hide or mask a defect. So black ink over a yellow portion of the cover would not be color touch in my opinion. You can find graded examples where someone has colored in faces, or added designs to the letters of the title, and they are not considered color touch.

I know they had issues with Microsoft on their website last week, however, I have not been receiving my email notifications either of receipt, change in status, pending shipping or having been shipped. I see them charge the credit card so I know they have been receiving the new orders. I also get notifications of incoming FedEx through the FedEx app. Has anyone else been experiencing this?

No issues with the forum or customer service emails.

I have one order of two books that are theoretically on their way to me. I got the received email on 06/05, but no others. Nothing in the FedEx app yet, either, though I don't know if things show up there when a label is created or when it's scanned at pickup.
