Production & Processing18656

Collector Archived84 private msg quote post Address this user
About a month ago I saw that my books had entered the Production & Processing stage. I’m curious what is the average time they’ll spend in that particular stage of the process? There’s a total of 8 books in my order. Any help the community could provide me with would be greatly appreciated.

This will depend on what tier the books were submitted under and whether you had any add-ons. For example, if you had pre-screen for anything, you may not have paid for everything that passed the pre-screen and got slabbed yet, and things will get held up for a while when it comes time to settle your bill.

For my own submissions, when I have books that were not pre-screen and encountered no billing delays, they have been in the 'Production & Processing' phase for a week or two. It's tough to be sure, though, because this method of tracking submissions only went live a few weeks ago.

BTW, welcome to the forum!!

I wouldn't trust the tracking tool.... my books haven't even been pressed yet (Nov 2021) and show as the same stage as yours

Right on! Thank you for that information and the welcome to the forum! These were the details of the order if that helps with getting an approximate timeframe…

From what I was seeing with my submissions, it looks like it goes through the 2nd & 3rd steps twice if you're pressing. It goes through once for the press, and then back to square one for the grading process and through those steps again. They should consider adding a fifth step for pressing, and folks who aren't doing that just skip past it and go straight to 'Verification & Grading.'

Less than a week for me from grading to telling me it’s shipped. Not sure it has actually shipped because the tracking number they gave me on Thursday still gives me no information on the Fed Ex site. I had one book with signature verification, too. It was less than a week from telling me they were grading to telling me they were being encased, then less than a week from that to telling me they shipped.

I personally wouldn't bother with the tracker (and I only pay some attention to what it says on the invoice online). Read the TAT threads or "books I got back" threads to see what orders are coming back and when they're from, and use that as a comparison for your order.
