you all have some gorgeous signed books, thanks for sharing them. I love Kirby's art and stories myself. Nice to see so much love for the king.

I hate how signatures can be on 1st page when you are grading. it ruins it for me. yeah slab says "signature on 1st page" and they provide an image in slab to show. but its not the same.

I love the signatures on the first page, its how they should be for the older key books at least, rather than deface a grail . Sadly though if you slab it you cant look at the signature anymore...much the point I deal with on my hullk 1....a nice Kirby signature on that first full page splash between the hulk
s feet make it just awesome, but if I slab it I wont be able to look at it anymore

Do you think there exists:

A Captain America #1 signed by Jack Kirby and Joe Simon?

or

Action Comics #1 signed by Shuster and Siegel?

....because that'd be...

Was just perusing Kirby signed completed auctions - there really is not that much; and even a whole lot less that carries some type of verification. Thus the value of a certified Kirby signed comic.

But I did come across this closed purchase and my head nearly did a 360 like Linda Blair.
Are these PSA stickers actually secured to the comic page?
I recognize there is no good way to associate the cert with the book and tie them together, but this is cringeworthy. I think it sold for $800

Thank god for the CBCS VSP option. It is priceless.

I'm sure whatever it was you got me was perfect. PhantomEwan private msg quote post Address this user
Oh yeah that sticker is definitely attached to the page.

Collector Darkseid_of_town private msg quote post Address this user
thats actually the point of the sticker, so yoou can go to the PSA site, enter the serial number and confirm its legitimate and the sticker matches their item they authenticated and not something else

@Nuffsaid111 yes it sucks, but there really isnt a way for becket or psa or james spence to lock in the authentication without affixing some sort of tamper proof sticker.

some of these places also uses a black light ink as well.

the best (and newest) option is the beckett and cbcs partnership of slabbing the comic once authenticated.

I have a few books signed by Shooter waiting for becket and cbcs to authenticate, press, grade, and slab. Wait 10 months now - so my time is coming soon! lol

Yea - I suppose my point was two-fold:
1. It is the fugliest thing I've ever seen; albeit fully understanding the reason for it
2. Thank god for CBCS VSP.

Not just the one "legend" Kirby; but all 3 Legends!!

Top top top top notch regardless of grade. Grade means nothing on that book.
Someone go find another - exactly - not happening except for extremely rarely.

Here’s my grail -I have other Kirby VSP’s but this is triple signed. I was very fortunate to be able to meet Joe Sinnott in person and have him sign it before he passed away. To me having this FF from 1967 right in the best chunk of the run/issues, signed by all three is like having a Beatles record signed by all four!

I also coincidentally found an FF 61 signed by the King a few years ago! But since the pandemic I haven’t gotten around to sending it out for grading+VSP yet:

Even if you witnessed the man sign it himself I think the authentication is worth it, and the encapsulation a desirable protective layer, especially for THAT book. We are admittedly envious.

Here’s a link to an eBay auction that ends in two days if you want a book with a CBCS verified Jack Kirby signature.

I agree somewhat but the book is also a can of worms...it has black marker on the spine, that needs to be looked at and determined if removable and what that would or would not entail....also grading a book that value out around 20-30 k is a very expensive deal nowdays....with the fmv fee assessed

I didn't go strong enough. I was hoping people were focused on turkey and went in too low... but it was still way lower than it should have been.

The only thing better than one Kirby signature is two (or more).

Those last 4 bidders let it all hang out.
Isn't it the way it always goes for a comic we desire?

Here’s a few more that I’ve collected over the years: I’ve been seriously collecting for close to two decades now, and CBCS’s VSP signature program is what made me choose them over the competition - my goal was to collect Jack Kirby signatures and I wanted to verify and grade/protect them. Luckily for me all the ones I’ve submitted so far have been verified
