WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley. He was at Heroes Con in Charlotte, NC one year to promote a comic he had helped write. No one on line didnt care about the comic or publisher. They just wanted to meet him and get an autograph. he was there for one day, had a panal at 3. his plane landed late, he wanted to eat lunch after checking into hotel first. so all and all had maybe 2 hours to sign before panal. his line stretched pretty much half of the convention floor. there were of course breaks to not block anything but even excluding those it was long. To help move along he only signed 2 things per fan. but in the end it was worth it. got 3 items (didnt even ask. he said he would) which were 2 of his books and a picture. second longest was maybe Rob Liefeld. but no where as long. at least he was there for 2 days. Longest Ive seen but never got on for was Kevin Eastman (TMNT co creator). didnt because had nothing for him to sign, didnt want to wait to maybe buy something expensive to get signed. did go to his q&a |

Waited four hours for George Perez at East Coast Comic Con. Limit was three items but people with VIP passes were allowed to jump to the front of the line multiple times to bypass the limit. It took them until day two to figure out what was happening. |

For me the longest, was Stan Lee, I got there early (1hr) and saw several fans bring in what looked like 100 comics for him to sign. since he was not allowed to speak to the fans because of his jackass handler the line went pretty quick once he started signing, I bet it wasn't half an hour to go through the complete line. Another super long line was Kevin Eastman at Wondercon. I mistakenly jumped to the near front of the line because there were line breaks that I didn't notice, got ugly glares (for (at the time) an unknown reason). Luckily one of Kevin's entourage made me aware of my mistake. Once I saw the line I told the guy, sorry I can't spend the whole day in line, it was incredibly long, but thanks. He suggested I come back 1/2 hr before the convention ended and he would make sure I got an autograph. When I came back Kevin's crew was shooing every new fan away as he would barely have enough time to sign the last few that were in line. I got worried because the guy who told me to come back was not there, I told a different gentleman my story, he said sorry he's not signing any more than those left in line. Luckily the first guy showed up and explained that he told me to come back. Everything worked out and I got my autograph and a sketch on the blank comic I bought from the. Win-Win. BTW. Kevin was great to talk to and was very kind with his time, Awesome experience. |

It wasn’t really a “Line” since I was the only person waiting but I was at the booth six hours waiting for each artist to show up to get this signed. https://www.facebook.com/groups/thecomicbookgroup/permalink/8188819527856482/ |

I waited about 2 hours to play Lazer tag at san diego comic con one year because I was so hung over I could sit down and wait. Ended up playing with Luke from modern family. Comic con is a strange place. | ||

Public restrooms in Japan will often have both potties (western style) and 'squatties' (squat toilets). Folks in Japan have embraced the potty, but a lot of restrooms still have quite a number of stalls with squatties. I waited in a line for ages at Ueno Station once only to find that the 3 squatty stalls were empty and all the ladies ahead of me were lined up for the western stalls. I went straight past everyone and Experienced Olde Japan. |

For me, it's more of, what's the shortest line? I'm not really an autograph seeker, but the two times I did go after ones at a con there wasn't much of a line or no line at all in one case. For the former, I think I was in line less than 10 minutes when getting autographs from Mark Waid and Alex Ross at the 1996 San Diego Comic-Con. For the latter, at the 1988 Mid-Ohio Comic Con, Todd McFarlane was just standing around in the middle of the dealer area showing his drawings to a small group of people and signing anything handed to him. When I saw this, right after entering the con, I quickly bought an ASM issue he had drawn, walked into the group, and had it signed within a few minutes. On the first day of the '97 Pittsburgh Comic Con, I could have easily gotten Ron Frenz's autograph and probably that of many others, as there weren't lines at any of their tables, but I was on a mission to get a particular book and wasn't thinking or caring about having anything autographed. |
