My oldest order of modern pre-screens turned one year old on 8/25/2022 - i.e. the date the package was delivered to CBCS, not the date where they officially "Received" it. I emailed CS on 8/25/2022 and asked if they had an ETA for this order. CS responded on 10/7/2022 that the order was in "Heatseal" which I've known for the past three plus months but CS did not provide an ETA. Fortunately I have new product to sell as orders with the other guys are coming back fast (almost too fast...). If anyone has followed my status/posts you know that I asked CBCS to cancel all orders that were in a status of "Received" as I have one in "Heatseal" and now one in "Grading". So far they have not acted on my request other than to verify that I want to cancel the orders. The totals are 2,243 books with CBCS of which 1.763 are in "Received" status - I really want those 1,763 books back as well as the majority of the shipping costs that I have already paid. I'm not upset with myself for the orders I submitted in 2021 but I could kick myself for submitting orders in 2022 when I knew CBCS was in trouble. It takes me back to 2014 when I was at Heroes-Con in Charlotte chatting with Steve Borock and letting him know how excited I was to have more than one viable choice for comic grading. Back then the CBCS site could not take orders - that changed within a month or two. Most new businesses fail due to lack of positive cash flow. However the saddest cases are those in which a new business could not manage explosive growth. I understand that Borock's official reason for leaving CBCS was the outstanding opportunity for him at Lone Star Comics. But I have to think that the situation at CBCS helped provide more than just a catalyst for the move. I'm not sure how CBCS gets out of this mess. Could they implement a moratorium on submitting non-express orders for a six month period? Have a definitive start and end date for the moratorium? I've been beyond reasonable through this debacle but I want my 1,763 books back - any suggestions on how to proceed? |

Business' need to be accountable. We are all invested stakeholders. Pretty sure I have made up my mind going further. I do like posting and talking up good comic stuff. I agree 100% with @WalkingWillie. I will be further patient with my orders, but that will be that.

Ask the graveyard of companies that have failed to deliver in a timely manner....oh yeah. I pound drums for no company. I love CBCS slabs. Staff at cons are awesome to talk to. A much better experience than I have had with CGC at cons, but even I have my limits in patience. I will say this about CGC, they have a bad corporate taste with me at times but I get results....and they always respond to my emails. The true perks of being a paid customer. I would vote for a moratorium...sadly.

Looks like timeout part deux has occurred. I find it particularly peculiar for an individual to get put in timeout; come out of timeout; and immediately put themselves back in a perpetual timeout situation yet again. What's that age-old definition of insanity? |

For me it's not the forum-venting that gets under my skin. Sure, it goes on too long and gets obnoxious, but the complaints are valid. The venting to a low-level convention worker is what I can't tolerate. Those guys have no power to take any executive actions or make any changes in the company, they just have to stand there and take it. The workers are a captive audience who have to put on their best face. Might as well berate the McDonalds cashier for not serving breakfast after 11:00. It takes a lot of energy to work those shows. The last thing they need is for someone to deflate them with a bunch of general criticisms about their company at the start of a long weekend show. It shows a lack of normal human empathy and respect.
