Actually these three vintage ones go back in the collection. It's all that modern crap that goes to MCS for lunch money.

I submitted 2 comics last summer (one in august and one in sept.) both were near the beginning of their months. I got an email saying one is now in grading. I was excited with this being my 1st graded comic and the 1st one I submitted is more valuable than the second. After getting home to verify the change in status I see the second one is the one being graded and the 1st that they got a month sooner is still in pressing. Is this normal? Should I be concerned?

I don't think they're done quite yet with pressing orders from that time, but I could be wrong. Keep an eye on the "Pressing" thread for updates from @SteveRicketts. And remember that different tiers move at different speeds, smaller orders move faster than larger ones, and that pressing is an extra step in all cases. Seems to me like you're right in line with what the rest of us are experiencing.

Ty. they are both from the same actual series The late one is #8 from original secret wars, and the one I sent about a month later was issue #1. I got all the issues signed at one con, and a month later I managed to get another sig on the others(missed opportunity on issue #8 since I had already sent it off), hope its quickly behind this one, but if it gets a good enough grade (and isn't lost) I'll be happy. time will tell I guess. Thanks again for responding.

i got to say. Seen both sides of the coin.
order 1 (1 comic) 14 months (15 if you count when I handed vs them putting in system) till finally getting it
Order 2 (3 comics) As I said looks like second submission is graded. which took 6 months (8 if you count handing it to them)

I guess its a matter of timing and luck. up until 2 weeks ago. I was stressed, wondering if they lost my comic (maybe it was misplaced since they had moved), maybe they had a lot of huge submissions. told myself dont be stressed with 2 submission but there is no need.

comics hit hot seal stage. so Ill likely be getting them back next week. 8 months after handing them over, 6 since they were officially received. so glad this submission had 0 headaches. after the 14-15 month wait on first submission. nice to have a great experience wait wise

I submitted 2 books back in July with signature verification at Fan Expo Chicago. Was told 6 months. Cool. I'll get them back some time in January. Well, still waiting. It's been stuck on "Verification & Grading
Your order has been verified and accurately graded by our professional grading staff." for a couple months now. Kinda disaapointed right now.

@James42 I don’t disagree. I figure one of them got out of order potentially in the move and since they were all virgin covers no one validated they were looking at the correct book. I believe the grades are correct but they put the grades on the wrong book title. Customer Service has already replied and I’ll send them back to get fixed.

Just an update on this. Customer service was pretty responsive on this until I told them, 10 days ago, that I didn't want to pay extra for Express pressing to reduce the TAT. I just wanted to know where my books were and if it was really going to be a grand total of 2.5 years before I got them back (and if it was going to be 2.5 years, could I just get my books back now cause that seemed excessive). I guess since I didn't want to spend more money they decided not to talk to me anymore, they've gone completely radio silent, not a single answer to any email since.

Meanwhile, I emailed just to check in on the other 2. I was told the TAT for pressing is 490 business days, and then it'll go to grading, etc... So, If I'm doing my math right (and I'm estimating not using a calculator)those 2 books, that were accepted at CBCS April 10th 2022, will get back to me sometime around Sep-Nov of 2024.

last time I contacted them and they had responded. it was after the fact. contacted about the super slow submission. they finally responded around when they were going to delivered.

it seems they solved the return time issue, just not their costumer support

According to Steve Ricketts in the Pressing thread they are already through June 2022, so arguably your books should already be pressed and into grading. You can post the tracking # in that thread and see if Steve can tell you where they are at.

How are people getting their books back faster than me? I mean, I’m at 12 months, I don’t get it. Maybe it’s just because it’s only 3 books? Anyways, maybe I should start getting in touch with customer service because I heard they have their act together.

be patient. I was asking myself the same thing last month. was starting to think either they:
-lost my submission
-are angry at me for something

then out of the blue my submission was graded.

if you contact them and they respond they might give same response they did to me. assure me it is being graded or something.

but talk to Jesse. he can see what he can do to get you answers

So I paid $300 to get the 10% grading discount which I don't think has even paid for itself yet. I just tried to do an order and get the 15% discount offered for the next month but it says sorry you only get 1 discount you cant add any promo codes! So does anyone else think that is total crap that I paid $300 for a 10% discount only to be paying more money than everyone else with a normal free membership that gets 15% discount that I can never get? I would try calling them but the last time I tried to get a response to report that the $500 extra insurance cost was 1/2 as much as the entire cost of the grading fees (making the submission far more expensive than CGC after reasonable shipping/insurance fees), they finally got back to me a couple months later after the books were already shipped back to me. I am sure they would have done nothing about it anyway with their great customer service!

How hard is it to get someone to answer a phone like they do at CGC? How hard is it to allow a 15% discount given to everyone else on top of the 10% discount I already paid through the nose to get and which apparently was not even remotely worth it!

For those coming to this thread for actual information which may give you an idea of Grade only and Press & Grade TATs, with a couple of VSP thrown in, below is a detail of my 32 Non-Express Tier submissions from June 2021 through August of 2022.

Got email on my Magazine "Test Dummy" submission, in "Bold" below.

CR = Comic ReHolder
EX = Expanded (now Vintage)
CN = Consumer (now Vintage Plus)
MD = Modern
NW = New
VN = Vintage
VT = Vintage Plus
PM = Premium

Some quick factoids on mid-2021 submissions:

33 Separate submissions
- 28 Press & Grade Submissions
- 1 VSP, Press & Grade Submission
- 4 Grade only Submissions

The longest TAT of my grade only was <51 wks or 244 Business days.
The longest TAT for combined Press & Grade was only 71 1/2 wks or 343 Business days.
The Shortest TAT for combined Press & Grade was 44 wks or 213 Busisness days.
The funny thing is, that both the longest and shortest TATs came from submissions that were delivered to CBCS on the same day on June 8th. [/b]

Delivered to CBCS on June 8th 2021 in two separate boxes. (All standard, w/out any FAST P's and one with VSP added).

5 of the 11 had press completed within 43wks,
1 of the 11 had press completed in 44wks,
1 of the 11 had press completed in 45wks,
1 of the 11 had press completed in 49wks,
1 of the 11 had press completed in <50wks,
1 of the 11 had press completed in <52wks.
1 of the 11 likely had press completed in ~52wks

Delivered to CBCS 11/15/2021 (Yes, 2021. This is a submission of 66 Magazines that were sent to Joe at @CFP_Comics for Pressing and he was going to re-forward to cgc for grading. After a conversation with Steve Borock, I decided to have CFP send to CBCS as it I was not in a hurry to have them back and 5 1/2 dozen would be a good batch to run through and get iron out the process of Magazine encasement. "Test Dummies" is how I referred to them. Thank you again Joe for your agreeing to alter the forwarding after you completed your Pressing services. Well, there has been movement at CBCS this past week.)

#-----D0D2-MAG - 66 magazines VSP and Grade only - In Grading 2/26, 2/16 Reverted to Received, 2/10 in ImagingSP (Probably for VSP), 2/10/23 Official Received email from CBCS.

I will continue to update until completed.

@Scifinator So, do have experience writing encyclopedia's?
I think you would do a great job. Very detail oriented and great time lines.

Looking forward to seeing those magazines they have had for many moons now...

Got an email from CS back yesterday finally. They apologized for the delay. Said they were looking for the submission so they could send it back to me (which leads me to believe it really was going to be 2.5 years from submission, I think it was a really weird quirk of the way it was done because I've never had any other submission take more than 10-11 months). So they asked me to give them to the end of the week to get back to me.

I guess since I didn't want to spend more money they decided not to talk to me anymore, they've gone completely radio silent, not a single answer to any email since.

still in heatseal but as I said. I was shocked how fast it started grading. as long as it doesnt take months to finish heatseal. Im fine. gave me time to order the Ranger Slayer Lightning Collection figure to go with the Saban's Go Go Power Rangers #8 (her first apparance) that is in the submission.
