The longest TAT of my grade only was <51 wks or 244 Business days.
The longest TAT for combined Press & Grade was only 71 1/2 wks or 343 Business days.
The Shortest TAT for combined Press & Grade was 44 wks or 213 Busisness days.
The funny thing is, that both the longest and shortest TATs came from submissions that were delivered to CBCS on the same day on June 8th. [/b]

Delivered to CBCS on June 8th 2021 in two separate boxes. (All standard, w/out any FAST P's and one with VSP added).

5 of the 11 had press completed within 43wks,
1 of the 11 had press completed in 44wks,
1 of the 11 had press completed in 45wks,

does cbcs hate me...have I pissed them off or something...did I insult them when I submitted? because why is it people submitting months after mine with same speed, no pressing or anything....getting theirs or at least updates!

they say its grading but all records dont say that. they never said "hit grading desk". they probably meant "it will be graded...eventually maybe"

@power_struggle55 I would ask how many different books on how many different tiers were on your order?

I know size matters with larger orders taking longer than smaller ones. That's personal experience over multiple orders over the course of several years.

I'm also pretty sure that different tiers have different grading queues, so if more than one tier is on a single order, then the entire order sits in more than one line.

Of course it's all conjecture from the outside with no visibility in, but it seems to fit given the status updates folks are posting here.

Ok, their turnaround page lists 180 days as their maximum estimate for "Moderns" with non-pressing.

I understand the turnaround times are "estimates", but a 100+ day offset is...concerning to me. Do they have a margin of error?

My oldest order is 285 days old (March 23rd) that is still in grading (it has been grading for 9 months). Are they still using the excuse that CBCS is overwhelmed with orders, or has something else occurred? Do they have too few people to handle the orders? Have I missed something? Please inform me.

Just asking. I haven't been paying attention for the last few months.

I'm beginning to wonder based on my readings if there aren't 2 separate turnaround times.
One for what I'll term the "pandemic overload" backlog
And 2nd for any new submissions. Maybe it's this second case that is 180? But the backlog is just "whenever we get to it"?

My guess is that it's one set of turn times for the chaos of stuff brought over from the old location, and a second set of turn times for the stuff delivered neatly to the new facility. Of course that's just a guess.

The TAT page does, and has always, listed what the time is supposed to be for an order sent in that day. It's obviously often wrong, which we should say upfront. But if it says 180 days right now that has no influence on anything sent in previously. For an order sent last March the question is what the TAT said then.

There is some nuance here. Estimated TAT is as @xkonk states, the snapshot of submissions today. However, those submissions we make today could come back faster if order flow lessens or unfortunately longer especially if order flow of higher tiers increases and jumps ahead of existing submissions.

@Nuffsaid111 - LOL, I know you jest. Crazy that nobody has corrected that. Just posted in the Pressing thread, my most recent Vintage Press took only 5 wks / 27 business days. And NONE of my several dozen Modern submissions from the past 2 years have come anywhere close to the stated 490 estimated Press TAT. Average has been about 1/2 that.

The Vintage orders sure are moving fast now. I sent an order of 7 Vintage comics that arrived at CBCS a few days before Christmas. I just got the email today that they have completed pressing and are already in the grading room!

The last vintage order we had (one book without pressing) was ready for pickup 12 business days after I dropped it off. We'll see if that holds true for the two that are getting dropped off next week.

almost 14 months since received (15 since submitted) my comic is almost done grading. Its listed as "hot seal" and status is at next stage. I said it before, will be still worth the wait. Just didnt like seeing others get theirs sooner when I did mine before them with same shipping

also....comic is finally graded, slabbed and shipped (9.0 which Im fine with. I consider that didnt do as great of a job protecting it as I thought I did if it was a 8.0 or worst...yeah something went wrong)

So, this is a fun order for me. I sent in 8 books last April, decided to try out the "Grader press screen?" It was so long ago I'm not even sure I remember seeing that but, whatever.

So, in January of this year, they split off 2 of those books for pressing and the other 6 went and got graded and I already got them back. So, 6 with no press, mix of modern and new with 1 sig verification, I got back in ~10 months.

Meanwhile, I emailed just to check in on the other 2. I was told the TAT for pressing is 490 business days, and then it'll go to grading, etc... So, If I'm doing my math right (and I'm estimating not using a calculator)those 2 books, that were accepted at CBCS April 10th 2022, will get back to me sometime around Sep-Nov of 2024.
