So my November '21 submission took 300 calendar days before it entered grading. My February '22 submission hits the 300 day mark tomorrow. Fingers crossed, but I'm not holding my breath.

One single Vintage book, pre-1975, submitted for grading and encapsulation only. This is NOT an Express or Vintage+ order!

Received: 11/26/22, Processing: 11/28/22, Grading: 12/1/22, HeatSeal: 12/5/22, Production: 12/6/22, Complete: 12/7/22

I will refrain from further comment as I have zero visibility into CBCS internal process or tier backlogs. In the meantime our group continues to wait for the New and Modern orders now placed "long ago". Sigh.

@figment - This tracks with my recent Vintage Plus submission. Maybe a sign that those upper/non express tiers are back under control.

it's funny??

1 order from Nov 2021 is ready for pickup by MCS
another order from Nov 2021 - sent in the same box - I have not gotten any notifications or seen any status changes - and of course that order is to be sent back to me...hopefully not soon as we are going on a family holiday and no one will be around for delivery!

now to see what to keep from the one going to MCS
that order is doubles 2x Moon Night #1, 2x Star Wars Heir to the Empire #1, 2x Punisher #1, 2x Starslayer #2, 2x Swampthing #37
2x because some are direct, news stand or CPV (Punisher #1)
Pretty sure MCS - return shipping will be less than through CBCS

For all those 11/2021 and 12/2021 pressing modern orders that completed pressing recently ... anyone head off into grading yet??
Mine have just been sitting at "Received" but no emails, nada... I'm sure they are at least done with pressing based on the Pressing Thread updates from Steve, and the fact they went from "Pressing" to "Received" on the "Print Invoice"...
Just curious if anyone else has had movement for theirs .....
Thanks!

Going through some boxes that have been sitting for a while, found an old flyer from CBCS. Check out those prices and (guaranteed, back then) TATs.

For all that CBCS is slow and expensive (or fast and expensive, if you want to pay for it), I still think they are the best option.

When I got there, saw signs directing folks who are picking up orders to the cafeteria. The cafeteria is at the other end of the building. I walked down there and found that the cafeteria is locked with signs displaying contact information for who folks should contact in regards to orders. As if they're going to respond to that contact when they won't respond to calls or emails directed to "customer service". That was last week. I've called and left a voice mail and sent two more emails to "customer service". I still don't have my comics nor have I heard from CBCS. What are the odds that I do any more business with CBCS after this?

They're keeping the encapsulated ready-to-be-picked-up books in the cafeteria?! Yikes.

I was talking to a buddy a few days ago. He said because the market is down, now is not the time to grade.
I told him, I have (like most) thousands of books. With at least 3,000 to 4,000 I would eventually like to have graded. Either for resale or to give to my kid. And I don't want to wait until I am ready to retire to start doing that. So, like you and others here, I am grading what I can, when I can so that most of the books are ready to go in 10 years from now. Some folks can't quite grasp that, and thus will never achieve the goal. I may not either, but I will be closer than sitting on the books for 10 years and then try to grade....at a higher cost to grade...

Update on my situation. Briefly I had around 2,243 modern pre-screens on several orders dating back to August 2021. After asking CBCS to return all my books to me except the one order that was in grading, I have been ghosted by them.

Now they are moving my orders at relative lightening speed. One order from 11/5/2021 and one from 12/31/2021 are being shipped within two weeks of each other. The first one I received last Friday and the second one will ship tomorrow or Wednesday as they have billed my credit card.

I now have 1,209 books outstanding over 10 orders. First time all my orders have been on the dashboard and I didn't have to click on Order History to see the rest of them.

This is OK I guess but it is putting a crunch on cash flow. The good news is that I have a lot of inventory now.

Is anybody else seeing faster returns on moderns - or anything else?

I'm just trying to get a clear handle on the situation ... The number of business working days in a year is approx 245 days (52 weeks X 5 days = 260 - 15 holidays or so).
Pressing TAT is 490 business working days for STANDARD processing. Grading TAT is 224 business working days for STANDARD processing. So that equates to just short of 3 years. Is that correct? If you had verification of signatures does that make it closer to 4 years? Just wondering

With regards to pressing, when someone had asked about the current 30% off pressing promotion and the current TAT on pressing, Steve Ricketts posted the following:

"Slow tier turnaround for orders submitted today will be 16ish weeks. I didn't realize the TAT page isn't being updated. I'll get someone to fix it."

For those coming to this thread for actual information which may give you an idea of Grade only and Press & Grade TATs, with a couple of VSP thrown in, below is a detail of my 32 Non-Express Tier submissions from June 2021 through August of 2022.

Just got the “Pressed and moving to the Grading Area" email notification in Bold below, on a Vintage non-express / non-fastpass press & grade submission.

Some quick factoids:

33 Separate submissions
- 28 Press & Grade Submissions
- 1 VSP, Press & Grade Submission
- 4 Grade only Submissions

The longest TAT of my grade only was <51 wks or 244 Business days.
The longest TAT for combined Press & Grade was only 71 1/2 wks or 343 Business days.
The Shortest TAT for combined Press & Grade was 44 wks or 213 Busisness days.
The funny thing is, that both the longest and shortest TATs came from submissions that were delivered to CBCS on the same day on June 8th. [/b]

Delivered to CBCS on June 8th 2021 in two separate boxes. (All standard, w/out any FAST P's and one with VSP added).

5 of the 11 had press completed within 43wks,
1 of the 11 had press completed in 44wks,
1 of the 11 had press completed in 45wks,
1 of the 11 had press completed in 49wks,
1 of the 11 had press completed in <50wks,
1 of the 11 had press completed in <52wks.
1 of the 11 likely had press completed in ~52wks

The banner associated with the promotion is what I assume you meant but the TAT on the main page (link below) still shows 490 days so that hasn't been updated and I believe that is what Steve R. was referring to with regards to the site not being updated and that it should reflect the 16-18 week time, not the old 490 days the site is showing. My guess is the website will get updated by the end of the year to reflect the new estimated TAT for Pressing.
