| Im new to using this, so i may have missed this elsewhere on the forum. I got my grade for a comic that was in pretty good shape but missing the MVS. The book got a .5 which seems low considering the book was probably 7.0. Is this the way it is. Thanks and sorry if i am just repeating another thread. | ||

| They deemed it incomplete and gave it a .5. Personally, I don't agree with that line of thinking. | ||

| It would be cool if Marvel still honored MVS with better prizes every year (like rare variants or limited edition singles). Just think of the chaos that would ensue. | ||

| Also my asm 25 was missing a non story page and was graded 0.5. I know cgc just lowers grades or green labels them. The book is an amazing shape otherwise. I was expecting a 5.0 at least. Thanks for the replies. | ||

I guess .5 is what they do now. I found these examples on ebay. Batman 181 is a book notorious for missing th he pin up.![]() ![]() |

| Unfortunately, it’s always going to be a .5 or .8 if pieces of the book are missing. That’s just the way the grading scale works. | ||

Here are the graders notes for my Hulk 181 they used to assign a 2.5 grade for the missing MVS. Graded in 2018 not sure when it changed to max 0.5 or 0.8![]() |

According to the CBCS grading guidelines, if they give a book a .5, there is more wrong with it then a missing stamp that doesn't effect the story.![]() ![]() |

| Yeah that's what I thought. It's a solid book otherwise. First bullseye. I didn't expect a 9.0 but it's easily 6 to 7.5 otherwise. The notes just list normal wear on an older book. I may just re submit through cgc. A .5 does not represent the book I have. Thanks for all the help again. | ||

| What am I missing? CGC is going to give you the exact same grade. There’s really no point and you are wasting money. | ||

| @Jgwalters100 FYI I resubmitted that book to CGC for regrade and it got a 7.0 green label. If I wanted a blue label I think it would have received a 0.5 grade. Sold it long ago but I’m fairly certain I got more for it as a CGC 7.0 green label instead of the original CBCS 2.5 blue label. |

| @Davethebrave Might not be a bad idea but personally I feel that a green label is slightly less offensive that purple. For the books I’ve submitted to CGC all that have come back green or purple I had no desire to keep them. If my intention was to keep that IH 181 I would want the universal blue 0.5 | ||

| On the other side of things. I got a blue label for a book that would have gotten a green through CBCS. | ||

| @DrWatson Agreed I know they serve their purpose like a purple label does but I don’t want either. | ||

| According to Overstreet grading guide lines the most an incomplete book can get is a 1.5. That's why I always ask to see the book if it's older and a key issue. | ||
