Probably DK (Donut King). It’s a Southern California thing with interesting history. Most donut shops in Southern California are or were owned by Cambodian refugees.

It's Winchell's, but next time I'm in the area I'll be stopping here:

It is 28c/82f in Ottawa today.

Having the usual highball and put ribs on the grill with steaks to follow.

Listening to early Aerosmith on the radio.

ribs will be on for a few hours....steaks are on deck.

This is the order of Breakfast Tacos and Hashbrowns at the popular highway Diner for $9.50. Wife and I can split it. This morning I went alone and brought half home for her, a second order for the kids (who are still in bed).

The good Dr. inspired me to try making a pie...enough was made for two pies. I haven't tried it yet as they're chilling in the freezer right now.

@GAC Those look good. 👍

I have a cousin who makes what she calls a toasted coconut pie. Your pies remind of me of those.

She gave me the recipe, but I think she left something out as mine never turned out as good as hers. I gave up trying to make it.

@DrWatson Coconut cream pie is very tasty...definitely one of my faves.

I'm happy to report the white chocolate macadamia nut pie was a success.

From the grill. Bun was homemade and incredibly light/fluffy. Would normally put on the grill too but it was fresh out of the oven.

After waking a bit surly from a night filled with hijinx, this recipe has me smiling from ear to ear again:

Egg wash: Eggs, milk, cinnamon, Italian Sweet Cream (control the sweetness with the cream).
Bread: Fresh baked French bread sliced one or two days before to let it firm up a bit.
No, I'm not eating all of this myself. Yes, they are fried in the bacon grease.

Most appreciated @EbayMafia!!! #carboncrunch

No but really not necessary. We crank our ovens to “11” (550F) and use large pizza stones. Let them heat up fully. We use two ovens at once and only one za per oven at a time.

Ooni gas mini pizza oven (thanks @Bronte) is great too for a one minute cook but more weather dependent.
