![]() ![]() a few weeks ago, I found out that psa/dna was attending a local card show so I thought I would take my showcase 4 signed by Carmine Infantino and Joe Kubert. Wife and I got there about 11:30, was told the show was sold out and there was too many people inside and they were afraid it was going to get shut down by the fire Marshal but if I wanted to take a chance and wait in line. Glad we decided to wait. It was an all day event, after we got into the show, we submitted the book and had to wait a few hours. Not into cards at all and walked around to see if Amy had any comics, not one. Got the book back around 5 and was very happy both signatures got verified. It was worth it. |

@Batman66 Awesome! They had to take the book out of the slab correct? Or were they able to authenticate through the slab? |

@Batman66 That is fantastic! What an amazing book. Will you be sending it to CBCS to get a gold label? |

@Byrdibyrd no, there is a small coupon cut out and affects story. I didn't want to risk it coming back a .5. I reached out to cbcs and without seeing it, they couldn't guarantee it would stay the same grade obviously.

The ink and sticker is on the certificate since they couldn't place them on the book and then they take images, place that on the certificate and keep the images on file for later references

While I am surprised they would verify the signatures through the slab not having the sticker on the book happens all the time with more expensive verifications that have to be sent back to their offices. I have rock and roll memorabilia that the stickers are on the cert letter just like yours. Generally, if the letter has to be generated back at let’s say another authenticator - JSA’s offices then it is on the letter and then mailed out. They do that when the convention guys need further review from one of their experts who isn’t at the show.

@Towmater if the book was not slabbed, they could have put it on the book. Putting the sticker on the slab would verify the slab not the book. Technicalities

@Batman66 Every item I’ve had authenticated that was framed had to be removed from the frame so the authenticator(s) could view it. That’s why I was surprised that they would allow you to keep the book in the slab. My comment about the sticker on the some of my letters are just the way that JSA does higher end letters for more valuable items. They aren’t generated at a show. There was a time when their music authenticator was second to none. No idea if that is still the case or not. For example, my entire band signed Black Sabbath drum head was done that way. Same with my entire band signed Van Halen Fair Warning album, and my 3x5 signed cards of the Rolling Stones. |
