This is the most I've got on a single book, I usually don't do more than one unless I'm getting a writer/artist team

I love to get the convention programs signed by the talent at said event. Every time I attend a con I get a program and walk around the show floor getting as many signatures as humanly possible! In 2016 I attended Baltimore Comic-Con were I was able to get the conventions program signed by a lot of talent and slabbed by CBCS.

Then in 2019 a friend of mine attended Baltimore and got me a copy of the Yearbook with several signatures. This one is raw but I love it!

Is it desirable to have as many as you can fit?

And finally - how about you post your multi-signed covers?

Only you can answer "how many is too many". Collect how and what you want to collect. If you're asking from a selling perspective then consider, if you like alot of signatures then it's highly likely someone else will too. There are buyers for anything and everything in this hobby. Maybe there's an avid signature collector out there that is only interested in signatures and doesn't really care about the book so a heavily signed book is perfect as a ton of artists/writers/inkers etc. is satisfied in one fell swoop. Collectors like all different types of things for all different reasons and none of them are wrong....collect what you like because even in a re-sale perspective there is likely another collector that likes that too.

Those Baltimore Comicon Hardcover edition are incredible to get tons of autographs on.
In fact, if you get 25, you get a set of 5 prints to go along with the hardcover book.
It's a great little thing that the con does to reward those getting signatures in a book.

All that said, getting autographs neatly and legibly and visually placed in a hardcover book is a beautiful thing. As opposed to "Busy" comic covers in which are made even "busier" with dozens of autographs on them. You can't even see the autographs for chrissakes! That I have zero patience for and/or any love for. But the hardcover books; neatly and visibly placed in the book, are the bomb!!

@SpiderTim love that! From my experience most artists will sign those yearbooks for free as well, which unfortunately now is a good thing due to some sig prices being a little ridiculous sometimes.

@Sebastsk8 Here's an example of one of my favorites. Every year I make this a "Thing" to get all the autographs so I can get the prints. And the cool thing is that the images on the prints are NOT in the Baltimore comicon hardcover book. They're unique images only available on the prints.

And, of course I had to get the autographs on the prints too!
Don't know if they'll do this year. Things always change.

@Nuffsaid111 they have info about it on the site already, they're still doing it this year. Have most artists signed the yearbook for free in your experience? Or charged for it?

@Sebastsk8 Every artist, every year, will sign this book for free.
I don't know if they've been informed as such by the promoter?
I have paid for autographs but when I put this book down I have never paid a cent.

Will it change in these days and times? I dunno. But historically speaking to date - never

I like multiple signed books, especially the ones as shown in this thread that were designed for it. I do want the person signing it to be connected to the book in some way; I've seen Stan Lee signed Batman books, and it makes no sense to me. But I have several books signed by at least two people.

The Web of Spider-Man is a good example of how multiple signatures can not work out; both signed in silver ink, and it just kind of blends in with the cover. The raw ASM I had them sign at the same time presents much better.

I have lots of raw, signed books I need graded.

But the best thing to get signed is hardcovers. The creators get, well, creative. And usually competitive. Both examples shown below were signed first by one artist, and then another had to try and one-up them.

I even talked my wife into getting one of her books signed and graded (this is the only slabbed book she owns), and I'm glad I did.

I concur. Wow. This is why I like signatures on the back cover if it has space, which a lot of variants do.

@Bronte My copy of Hack/Slash #12 is signed with a tiny sketch by Evan Dorkin on an inside page, since I had him sign it on the page with Milk and Cheese. I love it, but it's difficult to display!

I can remember super super early in the days when CGC just came into existence, the "thing" to do was to get signatures on the case. I watched a bunch of folks actually do that.

@Nuffsaid111 The Conservation of Stupid states that for any system closed to all transfers of intelligence, the stupid of the system must remain constant over time, as the system's stupid cannot change, so quantity can neither be added nor be removed. Therefore, the quantity of stupid is conserved over time.

I don't mind signatures on the cover if they aren't too distracting. Admittedly, when a cover is not my fave, I really don't care that much if it has signatures all over it.

Wait a sec. Did I just come right after @DrWatson and his dissertation on the conservation of stupidity? Is the universe trying to tell me something? Should I be insulted?

For me, any signature (or multiples thereof) that obstructs or detects from the cover is one signature too many.

If I was still a collector of comics - inside page only. Like a book for the last 200 years.

But since I just sell this stuff, it's best wherever everyone wants the signature (and/or how many signatures) is the best place for it

I just don't give a rats ass anymore with where this industry is and the nonsense within it.
If everyone else likes it; I like it

I personally would not get more than one signature on a comic book cover. If I was to get multiple signatures, it would be something like a convention exclusive or a fanzine. And I would not be likely to have it authenticated or graded. It would just be a personal memento.
