I assume you are talking about the rocky book in the Pedrin Fortress? No I didn't make it, Chris Pedrin, had them designed and manufactured decades ago. Now they are sold like collectibles to some extent as they are great.

@shrewbeer the Fortress is a phenomenal case. I spoke with Chris pedrin the inventor of the fortress a few years back.
With cgc casing everything with a grade it wasn't benifiical to sell them at convetions any longer. He told me he started doing larger type archival work for museums. Why sell a hundred cases at 40.00 a piece when he could do one large archival museum case for 4k.
Too bad cbcs or cgc never got with him. His cases were true archival. He even said if it was sealed properly you could almost submerge it briefly. Don't try that. I have several of them
He has a bunch that he made and never sold in a warehouse. Before I started to grade my comic I was about to buy 100 of them and encase a lot of books. But decided it was time to grade books for investment purposes.

I found these three in a lot that I bought off of eBay. They were sold with a bunch of foreign comics and all I had to go by were pictures. Hardly anyone bid and I ended up with cool foreigns and three GA's!!

I'm surprised at how well these have held up. The whole book, including cover, is just newsprint quality paper!!

Just got the set of 4 from Europe 1955. There were four in this series. Appear to be in near mint from what seller told. They are in the UK comic price guide as a set with a VF value of 120 pounds. They didn't even give a value for NM. Hopefully when graded they will be in the 9's.

Here aee a couple inside shots.

@Jesse_O so the notes say outer cover 8.5, second cover 9.4, third cover 8.0, the cover pic you see is not nearly as dark as picture shows. If you look at it closely you can see the scanner did something weird and overlapped it making it look darker than it really is. I'll post it when it gets home.

Just picked up this gorgeous copy of this 1935 Donald Duck. I would like to say it's the next copy around but I actually have aquirred 5 copies of this over the decades in high grade.

Here is one of my other ones. I'll get a pick of all 5 up soon.

@Jesse_O wish I could get this collection into a gallery to display it all. I don't think I can even understand the quantity of it all unless I could display it all and walk among it.
Which is exactly what I am thinking of doing. Was talking to borock the other day and I mentioned I wanted to rent a local galley room and display the 1000 GA/SA slabs. All #1's, #NN, and Dells in relatively high grade.
Would be cool to have a public showing, just not sure what purpose it would serve. Borock though to do it right before I sell it all, which won't be for years I inagine.

Do a Google search of 'Mouse Heaven'. You probably have already seen it but words cannot describe this collection and the way it's displayed. Stunning, amazing, spectacular (i'm trying), lol. Something to shoot for.

@earthshaker01 you have five?? Wtfh 😤 MAYBE someday I'll manage to get my hands on ONE at LOW grade 🤣

I've heard arguments for the wise little hen book, but I would think your '35 (although published after) is the FA due to the wise hen not really being a true "comic book". Your thoughts on that subject?

@shrewbeer technically it think the DD is an illustrated book since it's page designs are not set up in the recognized panel format. Howver, it seems to be widely accepted within the comic world, in that everyone seems to know this Donald Duck book.
Regarding having 5 copies. Yes it is rare to have 1 let alone 5. It's taken me sometime and effort to find nice copies, much like the rest of my collection. Of the 5 copies 4 are really nice, 1 is not as nice. I am going into my safe today and I will try and lay all 5 out and snap a quick pic.
Glad you enjoyed them and some of these other books. Not too many people seem to appreciate the stuff that myself, @Sagii and @Jesse_O post

You need to find a sponsor who will display a group of your
collection at various ComicCons in conjunction with their
product(s). Marty Mann
