@earthshaker01 - Look at the top corner of the first page, if there are numbers - letters - numbers, then it probably is. If you bought it without it being identified as a Davis Crippen pedigree, it could date back to the original batch of comics that were taken from the collection back in 1991 and placed in circulation.

@esaravo cool thanks for the info. I am not real savay on the inside and outs of stuff like that. I'll take a look when I find it amongst the horde.

A couple high grade 1948 mini giveaways you don't see in this condition too often. Ill be pressing these into high 9'S I hope, or turning them into brittle pieces of ash. Lol

These were found in a box when the Dell warehouse sold in late 70's early 80's. I know one of the original purchasers and he found them in the box. He sold the to me for nothing years ago as no one cares about Dell or at the time in the mid 80's they didn't. Spoke with Heritage Auctions. They couldn't believe I had a set. They had only seen I think one of each for sets that sold in early 2000's.
This is a mint set and was never sent out to get the leather binding put on. They are bound with their paper card stock covers that would have been glued to the inside of the leather overs.
Heritage advised to not at the leather to them and keep them in their raw state as they are as mint and untouched as you can find. And so they sit, not sure what I will do with them one day. Thought you might enjoy them if you are a Dell fan.

I assume you are talking about the rocky book in the Pedrin Fortress? No I didn't make it, Chris Pedrin, had them designed and manufactured decades ago. Now they are sold like collectibles to some extent as they are great.

@shrewbeer the Fortress is a phenomenal case. I spoke with Chris pedrin the inventor of the fortress a few years back.
With cgc casing everything with a grade it wasn't benifiical to sell them at convetions any longer. He told me he started doing larger type archival work for museums. Why sell a hundred cases at 40.00 a piece when he could do one large archival museum case for 4k.
Too bad cbcs or cgc never got with him. His cases were true archival. He even said if it was sealed properly you could almost submerge it briefly. Don't try that. I have several of them
He has a bunch that he made and never sold in a warehouse. Before I started to grade my comic I was about to buy 100 of them and encase a lot of books. But decided it was time to grade books for investment purposes.
