CBCS Social Media Specialist J.Haas private msg quote post Address this user
At CBCS we value integrity, and it has been a cornerstone of our company from the beginning. We’re launching a full investigation into what appears to be misplaced orders. We deeply apologize to the customers impacted, and we're going to do everything we can to understand what happened, make things right, and make sure nothing like this ever happens again

@Rinova the orders were sent in July 2021- and being unable to find the books started before the move- just FYI- like as in they never went to grading and all the steps-

I don't know...recent events do not leave me with warm and fuzzy feelings about doing future business with CBCS.

Rumors of CBCS changing their name also makes me want to start grading again with a more stable name in the industry

@KatKomics - Word I was getting from a high ranking CBCS person is that a name change was not on the table, but, if those comics are not located and if there are others, I can see name change then potentially being on the table to disassociate a tarnished name. I really hope those comics are located in short order for everybody's sake.

I give credit where it's due and this is a better response than just coming out and saying they stand by what happened.

What I am most interested in is their "make things right" part if they are unable to locate them. That will be a big indicator to me of how serious they take this.

How will we know who's order(s) were "misplaced"? Will/did CBCS let those know?

I think everyone is over reacting about this. They already took blame and stated they will make it right and I believe CBCS.

That’s all anyone can do. Yea I would be upset but I would understand that they are doing everything they can to make it right.

CBCS is still a better company than CGC will ever be. CBCS has integrity and that goes a long way unlike CGC.

I’m getting ready to send in more books this doesn’t bother me at all. I still trust CBCS because if they loose any of my books I know they will do everything they can to fix it or make it right.

I’m not doubting or losing any trust in CBCS. Keep on grading!!!!

I have not heard of a potential name change. Is there anything more to add other than this is rumored?

Taking a beating on IG.
People seem way more upset that they can't get customer service than they are over lost books. After all these years, that might be a good candidate for a statement.

In fact...since customer service clearly isn't doing anything, maybe they can go appease some of them.

is that everyones answer? when you screw something up sooooo bad, you just change the name of company? its not gonna matter about the name change if people stop getting their comics graded. this whole buisness if built on trust and reputation.

From what I understand (but i could be wrong) - the issue is not relating to the move but what happend during Covid. It would appear that CBCS started sending orders from their office to some of their staff’s personal home to catch up with a backlog to register the books after which they would be shipped back to CBCS. Would appear some books were misplaced/lost as part of this process, if this is true as described

I normally would react with snark, but this actually really sucks for the people impacted.

As it stands, this statement does nothing but make me nervous.

Who was impacted?
When were the missing books submitted?
What will be done to make this right?
How will we know our books are accounted for?

Will we ever get answers to any of these questions?

I judge an organization based on how they perform in bad situations. CBCS is officially on the clock.

Honesty, ownership, and transparency are key. The statement helps with the ownership part so far.

Its definitely worrisome. But if they said they will make things right, you can expect compensation for lost books based on market value. Key word is "expect". No guarantees...
