There is definitely something fishy going on. If you google canuckauctions.com you will find an address of 1726 Commercial Drive. However, if you look at the picture for the storefront the number on the door is 1303. Googling canuckauctions and 1303 shows an old yellow pages entry for this business. Looking at 1303 Commercial Drive on google maps does show this as a real storefront as of May 2019, but by December 2020 it was clearly for rent. Maybe they did just move and went online without a real store front. Malwarebytes doesn't want to let me see the canuckauctions website. Google reviews are pretty bad. The kicker in all of it. The address shown on the GCG website just happens to be the same as the address for canuckauctions. I am sure there is more stink on these two "businesses", but that is what I see right now. |

I just noticed the funniest part of their graded comics...look at the sample comics below. It appears to me that they are taking bagged comics and just laying them on top of a plastic case of some sort. I assume they are doing something similar with the labels. Zoom in and tell me if I am wrong.![]() ![]() ![]() |

The registration for the website does not necessarily mean anything; that’s just who registered the domain, which could be a company who built the site in the first place.

@flanders There are fewer things that get me boiling faster than animal cruelty. We don't need folks who find amusement in that. Can't say I don't feel satisfaction when abusers get what's coming to 'em. |

Given Caffeine Kids comments I’ll assume they are a real business, but their graded comics are definitely shady business. |

Given their close physical proximity to each other, I am under the impression that the auction house and the grading company have a business connection as well. In any case, the grading side of things is certainly off to a rocky start . They should have put up at least a professional level website before selling graded products.

Even if a perfect website, legit operation and no auction house association, I’d have zero interest in submitting to them. I will submit to CGC or CBCS only. The amount of reputational capital required to pique my interest in submitting elsewhere is extremely high. MCS with Steve, yes. Almost anywhere else, no. Sure, if I saw a major auditing firm enter the market and they were staking their reputation, absolutely. Still would require then to invest big $. The value of the service is not some stupid plastic and labels, or even a reasonably accurate grade. It is continuity in operation or reputation, brand, etc. |

@Davethebrave I'd be very interested to see a serious candidate for another third-party grader enter the market, but it'll take more than nice-looking labels and a dodgy website before I'll submit anything at all. |
