WB will want to move forward. I assume Miller (post-effective-treatment) would as well.

Should have been Grant Gustin initially. He’s “better than Ezra” haha

I didn't know the name of the actor who played The Flash before all this. I bet I'm not alone. I bet the number of people who now know that name has multiplied by 5-10x through all this. If he survives the legal issues, this will have been a pretty big unintentional publicity event for him and his movie.

They could have avoided all this by casting Grant Gustin …

DCEU's casting is failing. First Amber Heard but at least you can remove her scenes...but how do you do a Flash movie without The Flash.....though would love a Batman Beyond movie starring Keaton

John Wesley Shipp... Grant Gustin.

All that negative publicity didn't really pan out for Lindsay Lohan, did it?

Granted, however I would counter RDJ messed his own life up, while this Ezra jerk is affecting others. It’s easier to be forgiven when there’s no one else involved.

I have nothing nice to say about Ezra the asshat.

It's been discussed ad infinitum over the years. They never hired a Kevin Feige (or had a studio dedicated to live-action DC films). It got going, but no one other than one of their directors ever had a plan. The meal was a hodgepodge because there were too many cooks in the kitchen.

@theCapraAegagrus Exactly ! and when you have two of the most recognizable superheroes in the world; the universe should essentially write its self.

This is old news and the whole reason for the “reboot” through The Flash.

Hard to criticize The Flash when it hasn’t been released and when test screenings of the unfinished film have been resoundingly positive.

I think I need to accept the DCU largely isn't for me....

While I enjoy Peacemaker, Doom Patrol, Sandman, Swamp Thing, Shazam and mostly THE Suicide Squad their "flagship" titles have little to no appeal for me so far.

From the little bit that this version of Flash has been on screen I'm not a fan and can't imagine basing a reboot around this version. No real feelings about Ezra one way or another...never saw him in anything before or since so I can't say if he is the issue with this Flash or just the way he was directed or the character was written.

As things stand now I won't be watching this film...which in turn means my family won't be..not sure who the target market is but it's not this middle age guy with wife and teen and disposable income!

yeah for every good movie they do....they have like 5 meh ones (outside of the animated movies. those are usually other way around). ever since first Avengers movie. DC has been trying to play catch up. which makes everything seem rush.

The Flash movie seems to be a response to No Way Home or Into the spiderverse (could be wrong maybe got confirmed before those) but when I heard Flash might be a flashpoint movie. I knew DC was screwed. You dont do flashpoint without the reboot

This makes no sense since The Flash has been in development for about 7 years, and was always going to incorporate the Flashpoint story.

I really enjoy some DC movies, certainly (lately) much more than MCU. The Batman makes every MCU movie since 2019 seem like amateur Fan Fiction. The latest Suicide Squad movie was lightyears better than Black Widow, The Eternals or Doctor Indifferent. Never mind Joker or the older Nolan Batman movies, which were actual films with plots rather than delivery channels for CGI wankery.

Snyder’s films got hacked by WB and the DC universe as a whole lacks consistent tone. Doom Patrol is wicked fun but doesn’t even sit on the periphery tone-wise of Superman and Lois (another great show).

If The Flash is released I expect it to be a great movie. Not just a ho-hum movie like what Disney/Marvel are fine pu(i)mping out.

DC’s big fail was lack of vision. I think they are working hard to rectify.
