I recommend the first appearance of Doom Patrol for anyone getting confident with DC. Probably has significant upside down the road, but also just a cool book to own. One of my PC favorites.

Too bad that like many DC keys it is trading strong…Latest sale (yesterday) was UP about 20% from one year ago (8.0 grade on HA). Still a good value.

1st appearance is on the list - have 2nd appearance #81 in CGC 8.5 though and a reader in like 5?

Also Doom Patrol 99 is on the list - 1st Beast Boy

only because it is in reach to add to my other 1st appearances of Teen Titans

Robin is out of reach - but I do have a Toy R Us reprint - free hand out at the store in 97!
Speedy...have 1st Silver age in mid quality Adventure 262 - unlikely to get Golden Age appearances?

Decent copy of Aqualad (Adventure 269) are hard to find and likely out of reach

Have almost all the others though in ok grades! (VF/VF+ etc.for Wonder Girl (BB60 9.2), Hawk/Dove (Showcase 75 - 8.5), others in DC Presents #26 - 9.6 2x signed)
consolation of no 1st appearance of Aqualad is a sketch by his co-creator though...

Imagine being the actors/actress in a movie where you have completed production and then being told - sorry - we are not going to release - thank you for your service - but it was not good enough

The Pattinson Batman movie seemed to want the viewer to descend into a world of horror with its creepiness. While I doubt it would happen, the next logical step is to have Solomon Grundy show up as the villain in the next Batman movie. That would cause Showcase 55 to explode in value. Few can afford a copy of All-American Comics #61.

Imagine being paid hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars for being part of a mediocre film (fault or no fault) that doesn’t get released.

I have little doubt they will dig a level below the global characters as they also reinvigorate the core brand.

It aligns with what has already worked for HBO/WB over the past few years. The Sandman (if it succeeds) would add to that notion of using the full catalogue. They likely won’t jump into the obscure or niche first (or without association with a core character, of course).

We are in agreement. That being said, the rumors are that either Hush or Talon are being considered to be villain in the next movie. Since I don’t read modern comics I’ve no idea if either is elevated to the level of a “core” character you reference in your post.

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
The Batman was so grounded (relatively speaking) that Solomon Grundy would feel out of place. But who knows.

forgot Sandman was out - looking forward to it!

Episode 4 is a bit weird, but the others have been good. Won't spoil it for you...
