I still can't figure out what it's supposed to be doing if that's on purpose...
It is worth looking in to because it makes no sense.

I emailed comic mint to ask them. Who knows if they can even remember nearly 2 years ago though....

I'll update when I get a response. Thank you Jesse for suggesting this course of action. Especially if I have to pay shipping 3x ob this stupid book.....

Okay, this is odd. Apparently there's more than one Venom #2 variant that's having this problem. There's the 'Comic Mint' variant mentioned above, and I've just seen an 'Unknown Comics' variant by Tyler Kirkham that may have the same 'dual/double cover' issue. WTF...?

The guy on ebay. Said oh sh@## its not a double cover.

I told him as a customer I'd be pissed if I submitted it as a double cover and it didn't come back as such. I told him to do whatever, and good luck with sale. I am hoping he removes it from his description so others aren't ripped off.....

I'd be pissed, too! If he's not a clown he'll end that listing. Always assume buyers may have slabbing in mind when they purchase a pricey and/or rare item! It's fraud if he knows the problem is there and sells the books as 'double cover' just to make a buck. That's actionable.

@Byrdibyrd

See the picture I just posted CGC says it IS a double cover. I just emailed CGC and asked them which is it?

I saw that! I wonder if that was a while ago and CGC (item # starts with '2' so it was a bit ago) was not aware at the time that there was a dual cover issue.

Now I'm wondering if CGC is having a terminology problem, too. Just like CBCS, CGC lists the grades of the individual covers on the label, but they didn't do that with the one above. When they put 'double cover' on the label, did they just screw up and not put 'dual cover'?

It's not like CGC never screws up labels...

So. After spending the day in ER with brother, I am trying to find someplace / sny place open for food. Decided on arbys. They are out of roast beef. Go figure.....

I'm very sorry to hear you have family in the ER. That's terrible.

It's also sad that you're in a parallel dimension where Arby's has no roast beef. That's like McD's having no burgers...

That has happened to me on more than one occasion. Arby's with no roast beef. Just sent my mother off in an ambulance with gastric issues. Staying home with dad. Hopefully my older brother will make good on his declaration to go to the hospital. It's the least he could do.

@DrWatson

Good luck with your mother. Hopefully it's nothing serious. Don't expect too much from others and you won't be as disappointed as you could be. I know that sounds awful, but disappointment over what should be common decency really irks me.

This was my first time at a con submitting an ASP with CBCS. The con was in April. CBCS received the book in May (I know about the delay between con submissions and CBCS actually receiving it). My question is I go to see the status and it still just shows as received. It's been several months, shouldn't have at least gone to signature verification by now?

@Element_Lad
It all depends on the tier you submitted it in. I can't speak to specifics because I've never submitted at a con myself, but tier will make a HUGE difference, as will any pressing option. I have books I submitted earlier this year - not fast pass or express, but no pressing - that are still in receiving.

I was explained that ASP or VSP's are variable times and therefore you cannot have express grading or pressing with them since that affects the time required to fulfill the express times. Being a newbie to all this, I thank you for your response and sorry your items are also in the same limbo.

I haven't heard that before. But in general sometimes people see their order have a status of 'imaging' and that might be the verification step. It might not get there until closer to when it will actually be graded.

Thank you for the further explanation. I was told that in an email from the Northeast Regional rep regarding another order I had that included a comic for express pressing and grading. This was submitted before the separation of the pressing and other submissions. I had four VSPs and other before mentioned comic in that same order.

How many telemarketing calls do you get each day? I guess my number just got sold because it's every two hours now. I wish I knew who Cameron was, or at least his phone number. Anybody have an archenemy that has a number I can use to throw them off the trail?

My number got spoofed recently. After a few weeks it's slowed down a bit. Only get a spam call maybe two or three times a week.

In any case, fortune did not smile upon the loser who decided my number would be a good target. I'm the old-fashioned type and I have a landline, so no matter what that knucklehead got up to, unless I verbally give them my information, they're getting diddly-squat from my phone.

I've had heavily accented people call me (on my landline) about suspicious activity on my Apple device... that I don't have either!

It also works for car insurance calls. I flip-flop between that and being Amish.

Dayum! LOL!

My great claim to fame was keeping an IRS scammer on the line for 20+ minutes while I boo-hoo'd and dithered. The jerk wasn't going to get anything from my landline even if he were tech-savvy, and I figured the longer I wasted his time the fewer people he could scam.

I used to enjoy the prolonged call thinking it saved other potential victims also, but then I read where the callers get rated on the length of calls. So, it's a toss-up between keeping "John" occupied for 10 minutes talking about my favorite donkey Jebediah or explaining how I have pyrotechnics on my Twitch stream. Life is really hard sometimes.
