@Byrdibyrd just a free design I found on thingyverse

got into old fashioned double edge shaving over christmas...next print job will be a travel case for a razor that fits inside an altoid case
From what I’ve found the flaws are in the free file. Not finishing it nicely after the fact. It is a sweet container though.

What are the main materials that 3D printers work with? Plastic and rubber I assume?

@EbayMafia resin is a big one for miniatures (like DND characters).

think the library one is just some sort of plastic - you're not able to swap out type or colour -but hey - it's free!!

this one wasn't too bad, the caps seem to get maybe 1 thread on? they are secure - certainly enough for travel - would just like them to screw down a bit more.

I might try going back and printing the caps at 101% to see if that helps before I sand anything - would hate to sand it down a bit then mess it up
It took 2.5 hrs for the body to print and 1hr for the 2 caps!! just start it up and come back later - lucky for me the library in town is only a 15 minute walk and it was nice today so saved a car trip!

If there weren't a blue million of those books available, perhaps. However, as it stands, no.

That's what I thought, but I couldn't see that option on the online order form.

Maybe there's some difference if you're going through the Canada site? I thought maybe you had to put in a signature first but no, the option comes up after I put in the comic info

Apparently a bunch of toys I just bought came with comics. Does anybody know if they are worth sending in to get graded? They are page puncher comics. And some toy from mcfarlane.

Plastic/resin/metal.

In the classic car world they are useful for parts or components that don’t receive significant stress but are not readily available (metal) and for cosmetic/connectors (plastic).

The quality has improved materially over the last few years (pun intended).

3D printers can also work with porcelain. I have a couple of crowns that were 3D printed at my dentist's office.

Ok, as a newbie still, I have the Free membership. I noticed "0 Points". What are points? Is this for members only? Does membership make much of a difference?

I believe it's for members only. Unfortunately, I'm forgetting the rate at which the points accumulate.

@Byrdibyrd these toys are much different than the stuff I grew up with. Lots more detail. I haven't opened the boxes but they seem like they are more malleable than the toys of my generation. Granted I'm an d fart.

Anyone know anything about the Batman vs Harley Quinn Battle Statue or collect statues that can chime in on it?

Walmart has the Batman vs Harley Quinn Battle Statue on clearance on their website through a vendor for 199.00. Looking around the internet it appears that’s a deal.

Worth getting graded? Yes and no.

My comic collector side says yes. Especially if they are high grade candidates. No matter what year a comic packaged with a toy is likely to suffer damages from packing let alone retail handling and bouncing around in transit.

My toy collector side says no! Don’t do it! As a whole they are more desirable as a complete and unopened package. On the other hand if you have plans for a diorama; there was never intent for preserving the “collectibility” of the figure/comic combo.

My Kickstarter Spawns came exceptionally well packed in foam inside of a box packed within another 1/2in thick box and I’m looking at possible 9.6s after a press. The defects are obviously from manufacturer handling. The intent was to display the figures and slab the comics rather than display unopened boxes that hide the figures.

I have Kickstarter mcfarlane set unopened. I didn't even cut the tape. I'm afraid to devalue the toys. I'm stuck in collector mentality I'm comic more than toys guy, but it feels sacrilegious to open either.....

The figure package is a clamshell design that can be opened everything put back and closed again if that helps ease your conscience.

There may be a level of adorableness where the chipmunk ticks all the boxes and the squirrel comes up short.
