Imaging SP Issue17968

Collector Josh7945 private msg quote post Address this user
Hello. Hope everyone had a great weekend. So, I have a question. I have 2 orders submitted currently. Both of these orders are for VSP and encapsulation only. They both say they are in Imaging SP. Both have said this since day 1. My first submission was almost 4 months ago. I have no way of knowing where they are in the process, but with it only being VSP and encapsulation I don’t think it should be taking this long. I have contacted customer service multiple times with no response. Can anyone help me to determine the status of these? I understand they just received the 2nd order, but it’s still frustrating not being able to see what is going on with no response.

I have the same status with books also submitted about 4 months ago. Status remains as "ImagingSP".

All I can say is that CBCS updating of customer status is Priority #87 of 87 total priorities. One just can't look at it and expect useful info. It will drive you nuts if you do

In the past, when “Imaging” would show up on an Invoice, it meant that CBCS was taking a picture of one (or more) of the slabbed books on the Invoice. If you didn’t order that service, then the book or books imaged by CBCS would eventually show up in the Featured Comics section of this website.
I am not sure if that is the case here, but it if is, that’s good news, so congratulations.

That’s really cool no doubt. It would just be nice if they tracked it internally so that I can still personally track my books. Also it seems weird that both of my submissions were selected.

If the viagra is working you should be well over a 9.8. xkonk private msg quote post Address this user
Someone speculated in a different thread that imaging is the status shown for VSP, and I have a couple of signed books with that status right now. It wouldn't mean that they're performing this check this minute, just that it's waiting to be checked before going to the grading room.

That’s what I was thinking. I thought VSP was only like 6 weeks though? I didn’t order any grading. Just encapsulation.

Just verifying a signature used to only take a week or maybe two. I don't know if that has changed much. Encapsulation alone should be fast but non-express orders have been spending months going through that process. I would guess that includes art/slab-only.

Encapsulation only with VSP would still have to go through labels heatseal, etc. That process for graded books has been taking 3 to 5 months. No reason to think it would be quicker through that portion of the process. I've never submitted for VSP so not sure if it has the exact same process/order for stages.
I also think CBCS shot themselves in the foot with the very cheap express option right as con season hit. While they did eventually up the price, no telling how far standard grading tiers got pushed.

That makes sense. Thanks for the responses, everyone. I think I have a better idea of what’s going on now.
