I believe it's also the first appearance of Trigon...Raven's demon father. Not something that's very well recognized now but could be a sleeper character. He had a significant role in one of the animated movies which is what motivated me to get a 9.4 copy.

@jaxcomics I'm so glad those aren't slabbed because if I buy one I am definitely going to want to read it! Any one in particular that you recommend over the rest, based on notable guests or something interesting from that year?

I thought you only had 2 weeks to pay for items at MCS?
This might be my first no-pay? They won 2 books back on June 20th and so far nothing!

@KatKomics I don't remember the timeline (I might have jumped the gun on the two weeks mark) but one time I asked about a payment and got a response that the winner was one of their frequent buyers and they trusted it would be paid for shortly. So I might have been impatient, but they might also give some wiggle room.

I won a book from the auction that ended last week (the 27th of June) and the item in the cart said I had until July 12 to pay. So yea, 2 weeks looks like.

They prolly do have some wiggle room though for some.

@EbayMafia None specifically come to mind, but the earliest are the most interesting to me, as there's so much content related to legendary creators and their connection to the Convention. I prefer the artwork in the earliest books also; mid 70s creativity and artistry usually wins out over mid 80s artistry for me. All of them are really cool to thumb through though; and the signatures from many legendary content creators aside, it's awesome seeing old adverts for places like Moondog's, a name any collector from the Chicago area will instantly recognize.

@flanders So do you think the owner of the Superman book was a girl way back when, or do you think it was a boy who was smitten with Stella? Someone liked the name or the girl lol...

@Nearmint67 it would've been better to write "Super Stella" instead of Stella two times. I think it was a girl named stella that probably left her mark on several other comics of that era.
