I put these two in there from the 40's. An early Torchy appearance from 1946 (she's not bad, she's just drawn that way), and a very early appearance of Pogo Possum and Albert Alligator from 1944.

If you ever wanted a nice Golden Age book cheap, this may be the auction for you.

Question for you more regular MCS sellers - how do restored slabs do at auction? Do they seem to get the typical 50% discount or are they all over the place?

Good luck with the auction! Just a heads up, since the June 27th auction ends on July 4th it might be best to move any books you have in it to another week since items in auctions ending on a holiday tend to underperform.

@flanders I've thought about that and based on past experience I don't have any books in June 27th auction. For Monday holidays I wish MCS would move the auctions final day to Tuesday.

over all a good result for me tonight!
a mixed bag - some lower, some right on and some higher than I thought!
For most prints and portfolios I'm happy if they have found new happy homes as these were never going to see the light of day at my house (never to be framed etc.) so better to get rid of them!!

Plus side - these funds should allow me to get a few good sketches at Fan Expo Toronto!!

My only big disappointment in the auction was the Turtles #4 9.0 selling for $112. At that price I would have bid on it myself if I could. Everything else seemed to be with 15-20% or so of recent sales prices, which is what I've come to expect from MCS auctions.
