Just got all of these back from HeroesCon. All of them are amazing, but the Boba Fett is probably my favourite. Chewbacca is a close second.

A few years ago I purchased a SDCC '86 Jam Piece from Anthony Snyder's site. Most of the names I've been able to figure out, but a few elude me. The characters look familiar, but I can't figure the name.

I recently bought a 1986 SDCC program, hoping I'd be able to glean the pages for clues. So far, it's only helped with two (Jim Valentino and Don Chin).

Do any of these (hard to see) sigs or characters look familiar to you? Clearly one of them is Howard the Duck, but I just can't figure that sig.

The second one is clearly an angry Man in the Yellow Hat (from Curious George) drawn by Penis.

The second one looks like Dick Tracy. Instead of a P, I think that might be part of his lapel. So, maybe Ellis?

That actually crossed my mind. For a split second.

I see what you're seeing, but it's not a great image. It's definitely part of the sig. It looks like there is a smaller, "quicker" "n" after the obvious one, and it would appear an "i" was added after the last letter, which appears to be an "s". This makes me think it's "Dennis".
The sketch is almost a distraction because it does seem to be Dick Tracy, or even the Shadow dressed as the Man in the Big Yellow Hat.

It might be a longshot, but maybe a GCD search will show something.

In 1986, Dennis Francis drew an Indy title called Street Wolf. Many of the sigs on this are Indy creators. And this is the cover of Street Wolf #1.

Now I just need to find a clear sig to verify.

apparently Mr Smith has had a heart event - best wishes for a speedy recovery!!!!

Back in 2011 he was touring close to home and had a book with a mouse and how to get dressed for kids - my son was 4 at the time so it was super appropriate - we read that book many times and Mr. Smith did a little sketch in it for my son...and this one in my sketch book for me!!

Got a couple of covers sketched today at the local convention.

First up, Blade 1, sketch by Gregg Paulsen

And this fun piece of art by "Cartoons by Andie" on Thors 1.

Both very reasonably priced, and I'm quite pleased with both. The red cover on Blade adds a certain atmospheric quality.

Wow, I was talking to him today about a commission that would cost me approximately $1k... with that kind of money I'd want the work done inside 30 days.

@southerncross

My commission was about 700$ total. I didn't expect it to be this long but if he does what I asked for it will be worth it. It will be one of a kind and I think I'd get quite a few thumbs up for original thought.

Edit

One thing of note. Only 100 was put as a down payment. Not the whole zmount,. If it was whole amount, I'd be a little annoyed too.

The lady, Lisa just asked for 100. I don't think they want to tie up your funds if it takes a while. But I sincerely doubt they will decline more money if you insist.
