I hear their hourly rate is outrageous! | sportshort private msg quote post Address this user | |
I’ve had my eye on this for quite a while, I was going to bid 52 dollars on it but I entered an extra 2, so it was 522. When I was going to hit backspace with my index finger my thumb won the race and hit the enter key. Holy crap! I was sweating bullets that an overzealous bidder might take me to the limit. Luckily I wasn’t and ended up winning it for under 90 dollars. Whew! (LOL) |

@sportshort Oh, I hate the accidental bid. I had one once and it wasn't even me! I was looking at a book for auction when my cat, Diamondback, jumped on the keyboard, and by the time she got down, she had managed to bid an unacceptable amount for a book I wasn't sure I wanted in the first place. I won because the auction ended maybe 30 seconds later. I was a little ticked, 'cause that was back in the 90's and no one cared all that much for the book at the time. I'm just a C.C. Beck fan. Honestly, though, I can't complain now. I think I got this for $12 after Diamondback's $99 bid nearly gave me a heart attack. |

@Byrdibyrd, A cat that overspends and an overzealous finger. There's a lesson to be learned somewhere in there. BTW. awesome book. |

After my conniption and rapid key retrieval, I looked over at my new laptop to discover it in the throes of a massive pornado. I saw many Many things that I cannot unsee. Naughty Copper. No more internet for kitties. |

@Byrdibyrd "pornado" - lol. I'm going to try and work that into a conversation. I only hope my Pastor has a good sense of humor. (hmm..., maybe I crossed the line?) |

Pornado: The horror that is multiple unsolicited links opening up onto porn sites. I don't think I need that again, but I'm honestly not that disturbed by porn. Is everyone consenting? Then what's the problem? If I don't like it, I won't look at it. This time I couldn't avoid looking at it. A Lot of it... Was it as bad as the time a buddy asked me to look over his collection to see if he had any pricey books and he never bothered to tell me how much smut there was? The pornado was worse. It didn't have a wife I could squeal to. |

More low-grade cheapies from MCS. First Death-stalker, first Dial H for Hero, First Negative Man (unappreciated book that predates intro of Doom Patrol). The fourth book I just thought was kind of cool for a couple bucks. All distorted by light and ceiling fan. |

Had a little trade with @esaravo. Always a pleasure, Ed! The 1983 Marvel annuals with the black picture frame covers are a new goal and should be easily obtainable. Birth year and high grade copies of the black picture frames pop. Some more drek acquired over the past few weeks. |
