Just got these in, I love me some cool Bronze Age horror covers. The Sports Illustrated is kinda cool, though I should have paid more attention and seen the size of it, I was not expecting that

And, low grade or not, happy to have that SS cover in my PC.

Nothing wrong with vintage Sports Illustrated!

@Byrdibyrd yea.

I never knew that Dell had a run of 6 of these. It's kind of a cool piece of history. I think the "real" SI started in 1954.

I had no idea either! That's pretty cool.

Picked this up today, a very informative bag. Missing part of the splash and another piece inside so a .5 I think. Fits right in with the sorts of books I tend to own.

These aren't really new to my collection but I did just get them back from CBCS today. These are the two books I submitted to the Dave Gibbons signing.

I was super happy to have both the Alan Moore signatures verified (both are inside) but I was pretty disappointed to see that CBCS found a small bit of color touch on the 8.5. I didn't see it but I'll take their word for it.

I got a great deal on this one. I never had any Youngblood comics as a kid but I still have my copy of Prophet #1.

Mini vacation with the wife.

Went to a Van Gogh experience for Her. There was a VR thing at the end that was cool.

Then A-1 Comics for me. Picked up this guy.

We had a Van Gogh experience here in town and I went with a friend. Absolutely fantastic. Loved it. I sure didn't get a cool AS-M #19 afterwards, though! I missed out!!!

These are more finally-got-back as opposed to genuinely new to my collection, but a few have been gone so long that they feel quite new to me.

Love this Italian Avengers Deluxe Presenta #1. Has the 1st cameo appearance of Kamala Khan and an exclusive embossed gold foil cover.

This poor book... There must be some kind of record broken. It took FOUR RETURNS before CGC fixed the error on the label that said this was a 2nd printing (2nd printing has a blue title, not red). I was afraid it would eventually get banged up during shipping and the grade would drop, but they finally got it right after bouncing back & forth, over & over between me and CGC since last year.

I sent this sketch cover for the Fleecs/Forstner signing last year and didn't get it back until a couple days ago. I sent two other books in for signing only and got those back in December. This, however, didn't get the sketch until March of this year and inks happened two months ago. Seriously, CGC, don't offer sketches if they aren't going to happen in a timely manner! Not that I don't love the adorable sketch.

Just stoked I got a TMNT signed by Kevin Eastman.

Sent this in for the Sam DeLaRosa signing and since he didn't charge an arm & a leg for a sketch, I figured 'why not?' I asked for a Spider-Man (obvious) but added that if he was sick of drawing Spidey, I'd like a Mysterio instead. I had no idea I'd get this!! Spidey menaced by classic Mysterio Mists (TM, patent pending) with Mysterio Reflected In His Eye! WOOT!

That Spidey sketch is awesome, @Byrdibyrd. I mean, they're all really nice books but that sketch is very, very cool.

Another $5 #1 Annual to decorate the spinner rack that I don't own yet:

Couple of Mark Jeweler cheapies. HOS is a Nick Cardy cover, HOM is a Bernie cover:

@Byrdibyrd This is where I'm headed in the current chapter of my collecting story. Cool stuff that doesn't have a reason to be on very many peoples' radar. And it's kind of fun to be hunting for things that you only become aware of as a result of the search. Get a lot for your money also. MCS is my happy hunting grounds. My last shipment from MCS was something like 9 books for $60. I think it will be really fun to go to conventions and dig for books like these.

That's a great way to collect. So many worthy books out there that don't get attention right now just because they aren't movie material at the moment. Those horror books are fantastic.

So, I bought my first PGX book. Not something I ever look for, as my pal @SteveBorock always warns people not to do. But the book looks at least a 9.4. There's a tiny 1'16" spine tick that breaks color at the top left corner and two tiny non color breaking spine ticks at the top staple.
And for 22.11 tax & shipping out the door for a beautiful black cover swampy, was a no brainer.
Some day I will crack it out, press it and have CBCS slab it up. So how did I do?
